Thanks for the info, I will try the switch on the back of the Tach and maybe this weekend pull the boat from the water and look at the hole on the bottom of the drive.

For some reason every now and then my Tach will stop working? I will be out on the water and it will start to go up and then stop, then maybe the next time I take the boat out it will all of a sudden start working? As for the speedometer it gets to about 15 and does not move past that point...

That ka-boat seems to move through the water pretty good, 12' seems long but I guess thats better than being too wide.
