1st Lake Travis trip

Just wanted to let everyone know I took the boat to Lake Travis (Austin, TX) for the first time. I have been around the lake a hundred times but never on a boat. So for the people that know about the lake the natural place to go is Devils Cove. Wow it was great, the weather was iffy but the boats were out in force, I could only imagine what a nice weekend and or a holiday would be like. Everyone rafted their boats together, except us as I was unsure of the proper way to go about this? One boat had some extra special eye candy, about five females who turned their two piece bikini's into 1-piece, and stayed that way the whole time. Anyways good first trip and I reccomend making a stop there if you are ever on the lake!

I lived in Austin from 1991 to 2000 and had a 190 Sea Ray bow rider at Hurst Harbor Marina the family and I spent countless enjoyable hours on Lake Travis. When the lake's water level is up it's the best boating second to none.

Back in the days we went to Hippie Hollow where everyone was clothing handicapped. I understand it's been taken over by gays and lesbians. I agree, the Austin area lakes are great! Large, relatively clear, great scenery! Have you been on Canyon? I trailer so I can spend the weekend on the water there also!

dicor- yea the water level is down right now I was planning on going back up when the Bike rally comes to town and bring the boat but I will have to watch the water level in the next couple weeks.

Dick270- I have been all around the lakes on a motorcycle but that was the first time on the water in my own boat once previously on another. have not been to canyon yet heard good things, any areas you would reccommend? boat ramp, stay etc.? your pretty close to me seems your in LaPorte, taking the boat out over the Holiday weekend?

Last visit to Canyon I had an open bowrider and stayed in a hotel. Don't remember where we put in at. This weekend I'm going to a friends wedding at Moody Gardens on Saturday night. Will spend the night on the hook and head down to Bridge Harbor Sunday morning to party with friends (about 30 on 7 sailboats) and head home Monday down the intercoastal. This Wednesday afternoon I want to put her in and watch the small boat races. I'll probably pickup/meetup with friends around 6 at Villa Capri. I'll send you a pm.
