    Quiktrip Gas 13% Ethanol

There was a huge uproar within the last year or two where car companies were voiding warranties on cars that used E85. Here in Atlanta I did see a Race Trac station that had E85. I wouldn't use it my car, boat, Harley or lawn equipment.

    1988 268 Shore Power / Battery charger

Hi All: If a 1988 Sea Ray 268 Weekender has shore power, would that mean it also has a battery charger within the shore power system? If not, would it be difficult to install one? Thanks Bruce

    Engine oil analysis

After attempting to purchase 2 boats in the last month that ended in flames during surveyor inspection, I am getting ready to try again. I am getting ready to make an offer on a 1988 268 weekender. The boat appears to be very well taken care of by the current owner who has had the boat for...

    Sorrento 25 1988 model

You are right Chris. Even the Surveyor said to me after the last one that I have gotten a good education to figure if the boat is worth a survey. I am looking at a an 88 268 da. Seems very well taken care of. The transom was replaced last yr as was the outdrive. They had to pull the engine to...

    Mid '80s 270 Sundancers?

I can tell you for certain that a certified marine surveyor is well worth the money. This past sunday I was about to a 25 Sorrento and the the surveyor found delamination in the cabin top and rotted engine stringers in addition to a bottom that was loaded with blisters therebye allowing the...

    Sorrento 25 1988 model

Thanks for the advice. It is amazing how many people buys boats without having a surveyor check it out. I have now walked from 2 boats one due to a cracked engine and this previous one. The cracked engine ran fine so I would have not known until the problem became evident.

    Sorrento 25 1988 model

The survey was a disaster. The cabin top was delaminated. Ok not the end of the world the top was still solid. The engine stringers were rotted. The engine didnt budge under stress so that was a good thing. We renegotiated the price to 3500 at that point. I figured ok i can use the boat a...

    1990 240 sundancer

Unfortunately, the sorrento 25 had rotted engine stringers although the engine didnt budge on stress. Then we took it out of the water and the surveyor found the hull to be riddled with blisters. In his opinion and mine, that boat had more water in it than lake lanier. With the 454 engine in...

    1990 240 sundancer

Looks like strike 2. The 25 Sorrento had rotted strings and enough blisters on the bottom to make it look like swiss cheese. In addition the outdrive was eaten up with electrolysis. So I am once again in the market.

    1990 240 sundancer

Survey is Sunday on the 1988 Sea Ray 25 Sorrento at Lake Allatoona. If it goes well, the boat will be at Bald Ridge on Lanier Sunday evening. "P" Dock all the way at the end facing "O" dock

    Sorrento 25 1988 model

HI: I just looked at a 1988 Sea Ray Sorrento 25. The boat has a 454 mercruiser. It started right up and seem to run very smoothly. The engine and bilge looked very clean and neat. No smells of oil or gas whatsoever. The cabin was also very neat and no smells. The boat had been stored...

    1990 240 sundancer

As it happened I ended up making a deal on a Regal Valanti 240. Under survey and mechanic they found that the engine at some point had not been winterized properly and the engine had 2 cracks in it. Although it ran fine, I wanted no part of it. They are putting a new crate engine in it. After...
