Sunbrella fabric instead of vinyl for outside seats

I like the idea myself, on our "small" boat the first thing people do is put a towel down cause the bow seats are in the sun and are hot. I've been thinking of having the handy dandy mother in law sew up some towel type material that matches the boat of course with elastic to cover the seats and that way I can wash them.

...I've got a beer in my hand and watching.........

<Secret message~~~THANKS GARY~~~You know what I'm talking about>

Come on guys, I have a chilled bottle of Vodka with a bunch of olives. I'm ready for a show.

Man, if I ever visit the Big Apple, I'm starting a completely volatile thread from the Airport and looking you up. I’ll bring and extra bottle of vodka and the laptop.
:huh:

well Todd, looks like we didn't get a good morning coffee read.

Nope, and by the way coffee doesn't taste good with vodka in it.

The sunbrella is nice looking, but how do you clean it? I usually clean all of our seats before we take off. You can't really wash sunbrella without having a soggy seat.

What about when dew is on the seats? All I can think about is a wet behind...

To address Matt's sun tan lotion staining issue, I looked around a little more. I noticed that Front Gate offers a fabric upgrade on their outdoor teak furniture from Sunbrella to Crypton fabric. It says it is "completely stainproof". Anyone seen this stuff? I'm going to try and get some samples...

No but I can tell you that I bleached the cr*p out of then pressure washed our neglected Sunbrella canvas and it came out very nice. I just need to add some 303 for waterproofing now.
I think with some 303 + your boys are old enough now, to not spill the "Nuclear Blue" juice drinks on Dad's new seats+ some bleach you should be just fine

Crypton fabric was designed for institutional use and is used on chairs in hospital rooms and nursing homes. Sometimes waiting room furniture is covered with the material. It has the look and feel of plastic seat covers up close. From a distance it looks like fabric. It's very easy to clean.
