410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

HELP!!! Looking for ideas on how to best replace TV with flat screen above salon fridge. I must be the last guy with a 2000 model year 410DA to do this, but I am not very handy when it comes to fabrication and I've been avoiding it. Wife says it MUST be done before we cruise in August...

Want to retain storage space with swing out mount if possible. Considering a simple wooden 'blank' the inside dimension of the current opening, with access holes as needed...

Searched for threads but didn't come up with any???

Why don't you put the TV on the wall like this?

I use the area over the fridge for extra storage.

I remembered seeing some threads about TV installs and did a search. I found this thread that you may want to take a look at:

it May or may not have all of the issues you want to address, but it should be a start.

I did exactly what Boat Guy did. My post might still be on here from years ago? I made a door for the old hole, bought the factory style knob/latch and used the laminate from the fridge door. Worked awesome!

I'm looking to replace my white cockpit sink with a stainless steel one. Has anyone done this? Just curious as to where you may have purchased your sink from. Didn't see one on FP Marine and having difficulty finding an oval sink in stainless.

For any of you with the 400EC my latest dilemma is the following: How do you get the water heater out from behind the starboard engine without having to pull the engine? I am hoping that what I see is just rain water collecting on the shelf holding the water heater, fuel tank and battery charger, but in the event it is not, I cannot see for the life of me how the water heater can get out of there. Anyone change theirs out? If so, how did you do it? (It is not fuel I see on the shelf as there is absolutely no gas odor in the engine room. I also could not reach it to see if it was salt or fresh water. I do not see any obvious signs of a leak on he connections to the water heater, so I do not believe it is merely a connection problem. The tank does have some significant rust on the bottom so I am afraid that the tank itself is the culprit)

I used a Scandvik Part # 501224 stainless steel sink for the wet bar in my 340, and it fit with just a slight enlarging of the cutout. They make quite a few other sinks as well, so hopefully you'll find one that fits.

Bryan, you'd think I was kidding if I asked you if you'd sell the old one, but.... lol

I did change mine but, the engines were out of the boat.
Someone on here put a smaller heater elsewhere because, of this problem.

Try measuring if the removal of the exhaust on that side would give you access or you'll have to yank the engine...ouch!

Been discussed several times and no, it's normal for steam to trail behind you.

Mine seems to have more out out one side than the other sometimes but, I think its the way the wind is blowing.....

Works for me everything else indicates no issue ,temps, coolant level and the performance. The Boat runs and handles like a dream, should have dumped stern drives years ago! we made a 4 hour non stop run home and the steam became less pronounced with miles. love this boat! thanks!

Mark,

The white paint on the props looks sharp! Too bad you can't see them when the boat is in the water. Did you paint the shafts also? Looks like black paint on them. Do you find that it helps? The shafts on my boat are clean stainless and really don't have much on them at the end of the season.

I don't haul my boat until its necessary, I feel my boat is happier in the water..for 2-3 years before I need to haul...your results may vary.

The props and trim tabs are covered with Pettit Zinc Coat, this is my trial with the product.
I've watched many other boats use it and it seems good.....?
Shafts are covered in Interlux Primocon and Micron Extra.

Boats been in the water almost 12 months now and I've only swam under it twice so far this year. Both types of paint are covered in a brownish slimey growth that wipes off with my finger. There aren't any barnacles at all...so far, I'm happy.
The props are clean except for the hub. The Zinc paint is adhering very well and hasn't flaked off at all.

The trial cont.....

Don't like shaft zincs....I installed brushes.
I don't think I really need anything but, it makes me feel better.
