X,
Why not Fire Island on Labor Day??
Just something different. Oh and had a bad experience at fLynn's 2 weekend's ago. The dock masteer put Me in a slip at high tide. East side outside last slip to the south. Went to bed woke up listing hard to port went outside and I was in a foot of water. A.c. on and all had a hand full of sand in strainer couldn't use my a.c. all weekend and had to have the system flushed. Went inside told them the deal, they came outside to look and actually laughed in my face. And said " that sucks you should have checked you know tides go up and down over here. There's nothing we can do" not even a free drink. T here excuse was well there's a boat twice your size right next to you why didn't he hit. We are not responsible for damaged boats. Shouldn't they be responsible for o putting someone in deep enough water? Dock master said I thought you would only draw 20 inches. Such b.s. so u dunno how I feel about going back there.
Alex. Yea I understand I should have looked thanks for ribbing it in lol. But in my defense. They I thought I was pulling in at low tide yes my fault again but the dock master shouldn't b putting any vessel of any size in 3 feet at high tide. But yes I get your point. It's my boat my investment I sshould no better. And yes a.c. was flushed and working properly just dunno how long it was on for with the sand in it.
Trust me you're not alone. I've seen multimillion dollar yachts sitting in the mud with bow thrusters above water line. I even snapped some pix as I was simply shocked. This was in CT where the tide swing around 7'-9'.
todd,
