Break Out Another Thousand. Well what started out as a routine preventive maintenance routine turned out to be another expensive job! Starboard side engine raw water impeller was scheduled to be changed as my routine maintenance schedule. Well the pump was all scared up on the inside, so now the entire pump assembly will be changed. What started out as an inexpensive PM will now be over a thousand dollars again. Last year port side engine had the same thing. The old impeller was showing signs of getting ready to go, so I guess I did save myself a long trip home on one engine. Was there once someone on this forum that would preach “wait till it breaks”!
I’m not sure which of my hobbies is more expensive, the medical bills from the old motocross days, or the boat now!
