Anarchy and Lawlessness

I was trying to get this across in a more subtle way, but sometimes the direct route is better.

I was thinking the same, but probably in reverse.....the ones who got bullied as kids like to do the bullying now from behind their keyboards...makes them feel good. Meet them in person and it's a different story.

I am not a psychologist though, just saying.

Lets start a riot, a riot :smt038

Same thing some butt-wad drivers do in the protective cacoon of their automobiles. Or, did I really mean to say blow-boaters.....:)

Isn't this about the time during threads like this when guys begin to monitor and report on certain people's visits to the forum?

Maybe he hasn't posted here because he rolled up into a fetal position when he found out his boat doesn't have OEM barrier coat after he was told so many times here, but it wasn't credible enough for him.

"but it wasn't credible enough for him"

You raise a good point. I consider most of the comments here as opinions, some good, some great, some spot on, some way out in left field, some help, some do not. There are a few boat tech folks on here who make a living turning boat wrenches and I definitely feel what they say is credible.

So if a user feels his/her source is more credible, states so, why bash him/her for stating that? Why assume the advice given here was not credible enough?

If 20 people on here say "it's so" but the user feels confident in their source, that it's "not so", why is that not OK here and why is the person judge for feeling that way? Why does the user have to cede to other opinions?

I see discussions on here all day long where folks go back and forth, some bend, some don't, some listen, some don't. It's the way this thing works; am I right?

If multiple people on here answer with the same and you don't like it, ask somewhere else. Or better yet he could have called Sea Ray and asked. The thread also had a copy of a Sea Ray customer service email confirming it...that's why. Why ask on here if no proper answer is acceptable. Call the dealer and if that doesn't satisfy calll Sea Ray direct.

One or two opinions, yeah maybe, keep asking but to boldy defy everyone who had the correct answer from EXPERIENCE?

MrsRobinson,

probably will get an infraction for this one, but you admit earlier that you have not read the guys post, yet you continue to defend him with what seems to just be an attempt to open back up the issues you had in the past that you are no longer discussing with certain members of the board.

It is pretty easy to spot someone who comes on acting like they know more than the rest and haven't a clue. There is nothing wrong with not knowing (heck I admit I am rather new to boating) but I don't go around telling Frank Webster the he has not a clue what he is talking about either.

Prior to putting your name on the line for wingless go back and read the threads he has been involved in. I am not saying you are wrong for supporting him but to make a comment like I have not read most his threads and then continue to defend someone makes your statements less credible.

Ok Jim give me my infraction points

Wes, it seems impending fatherhood has made you ornery.

Greg, he's got you there. Yesterday I went back and read the grounded hero's past posts. He has brought much of this on himself...

"yet you continue to defend him with what seems to just be an attempt to open back up the issues you had in the past that you are no longer discussing with certain members of the board."

Good observation but not the case.

At this point I am simply responding to what others are saying. I have no desire to defend the guy, he is quite capable of doing that himself.

"just be an attempt to open back up the issues you had in the past"

Again, not the case, in fact I made reference to how my previous post on the matter helped me here. I even PMed wing with a reference to that post as soon as I saw this one.

"that you are no longer discussing with certain members of the board"

No idea what this means. Did I miss something?

I read the post about the bottom paint and found his remarks/comments in-line with other discussions I have seen here from more 'favored' CSR members. The first reply:

"Are you really complaining about bottom paint sticking to fiberglass on a 9 year old boat?"

This could easily be taken out of context (most folks do not like to be told they are complaining), and I think it was, or perhaps Gary was trying to piss the guy off. My guess is that latter. So at the point the tone was set, expect the reaction and responses you saw.

I am not saying anyone is right or wrong here nor am I whining or judging nor am I defending wingless. I simply think folks need to step outside the CSR "norm" box and look at this from wings point of view. Things got a little heated, he replied with emotion, so did the others. So what?

"but I don't go around telling Frank Webster the he has not a clue what he is talking about either"

Help me understand where wing told Frank W or anyone for that matter, in the bottom paint thread, that they did not have a clue what they were talking about? I simply do not see it.

Why is this thread still going on and on. We went through this a couple of months ago and here we are again. Same people, same result.

Greg,

Last situation like this you and i disagreed. I probably went too far in my "bashing" of your "whining" saw my error in judgement and followed it up with a PM to you and a by deleting my posts. Your response was that you were no longer going to post in threads like these and sit back and read more and post less. I think it's time that you adhere to that idea in the case of this specific thread. The thread is run in to the gound and you are keeping it alive.

We need a new Forum…. Call it Stick a Fork in it. I am sure someone can come up with a clever icon.

Sure... I'm surprised I haven't got an infraction and had it removed... but I guess silverware with bent tongs are not covered in the rules...

Thanks.

If he shows back up again, I may take you up on using it. The rules say something about nudity, pornography and macabre. I think your photo is safe, but, I don't run the joint!

The picture is gone...

oh well... another infraction. They are like trophies you know....

That's a hoot. Oh, well poop happens.

I haven't been around here that long, but, I can only assume you have a whole wall of those "trophies". Keep up the good work. Someone has to stir the pot, right?

And, yes, your avatar does have a little Elvis look about it.
