How safe do you feel?

I'm thinking of smashing the windows out of a West Marine. They been ripping us off for years, time to take back, you know, 'get what's ours', they made it on our backs, our hard work ya' know. Whatta ya' say guys? We'll do it in the name of George Boyd or William Floyd or whatever that dead guys name is.

I'll be grabbing some new fender covers and some carnauba as I chant William Boyd-William Boyd...or whatever his name is. I be speaking out so the guv'ment hears me.

48 of those LEO’s killed in the line of duty were murdered. The other 41 not broken down by sex and and ethnicity were killed in accidents.

It seems most of the protesters are just shoppers without cash based on the news.

Hey now, don't bring your racist skewed statistics based on fact to the subject, who do you think you are? The facts will only serve to divide us dude, give us some normative platitudes to unite us and ensure that there is social equity and justice. Honestly listening to the talking heads and politicians trying to sell how America has its knee on the necks of the black man is really getting old. Show me a single place on earth that does more to elevate minorities than the united states. Its the classic case of give and inch and they ask for a mile!

The real gripe blacks should have is encapsulated w this saying:

“Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish, feed him for a lifetime.”

The Dems have been handing out free fish for decades. See how that’s worked out.

I believe many blacks are fully aware and are knowingly using racism and inequality as leverage to influence political affirmative action. What they fail to realize is they’re hurting themselves, then they publicly blame whites for the plight they created for themselves.

It’s a poverty stricken cultural way of thought handed down by generations.

I was born in Cuba. My mom and dad worked. Mom waited on tables. My 3 brothers and me went to Catholic school from 1st grade through HS in Miami. We went out every weekend on the family boat, a 17ft Mako. We went to Bimini in that thing every summer to fish and dive. We each paid our own way through junior college then college. My brothers and me purchased our own cars. We all have 6-figure careers and spoil our kids to offer them advantages we saw our childhood friends enjoyed. We never begrudged our “ rich friends “.

I’m proud to be an American citizen. No one gave me a thing, nor did I expect anything.

I hate commies and I ain’t paying reparations for shyte!

Hey El Capitan, I was beginning to worry I went to deep with this one. At least someone got it......I think.:)

I saw a great news clip tonight of somewhere here in Ca where there was protesting happening. It was centered around a younger black woman confronting a 'Woke' white college coed who was helping her friend tag a building with spray paint. The black woman was yelling at the white chicks to stop hijacking their message with the tagging and looting. She grabbed the camera and went ape shit on the subject. Not one word about justice for Floyd but telling whitey to quit bastardizing the BLM message. I found my self rooting for her. She just wanted to support her cohort's message in a peaceful and lawful manner and instead realized that these trouble making spoiled brat white kids were just there to capitalize on the situation implicating everyone involved in a crime. I don't really get the whole protest idea myself but to each their own.

I am a single child raised by my mother. My father had a good job in the steel mills but he spent all of his money and most of his time on beer, women, and fast cars. My mother worked in a luggage factory for minimum wage. Once she went to the welfare office to ask for help and they treated her like dirt. She left there crying and never went back and never asked for a handout again. We made it through. By the time I was in my early teens she had got her real estate license and made slightly more than she did as a factory worker. The house I grew up in was in bad shape. We actually tore it down after I moved out. I could have very well been on the same path as many of these kids are today. The difference? My mother taught me respect, responsibility, and discipline. I didn't dare talk back to her or let her hear me talk back to anyone else. I was more scared of her if I did something wrong that I was of the police. That is the difference. My wife has students failing school. She calls the parents and they say 'what do you want me to do? I can't make him do the work'. Well my mother made me do it. I now have a B.S. degree and a six figure income. All 4 kids make great money, 2 have B.S. degrees, 1 is a detective, and 1 is a supervisor at a manufacturing facility and has more cash in the bank than the other 3 combined. My kids all got jobs when they turned 16. All 4 have worked at the local McDonalds. All 4 got their own cars when they got their license. I may have paid for them but they made payments to me every payday. And these were $2000-2500 cars. Not $25,000 cars. They all paid their own car insurance from day 1. And other than speeding tickets none have any type of criminal record.

Not bragging, just pointing out the differences in how respectful kids are raised compared to some of these kids out there. If my mother didn't teach me the values she did then I'm sure I would have turned out much different and my kids likely would have too.

Oh, and just to add to my potential situation, my one uncle spent about 25 years in prison on 2 separate occasions, 3 of my cousins have been arrested numerous times and just found out today one of their kids will likely be going to prison soon for quite a long time. On my mothers side she has 3 brothers that were always getting drunk and getting into bar fights. Their last name had a reputation around here for being troublemakers. Not serious enough for jail but enough to be kicked out of about every bar around. And their father (my grandfather) was a police officer...lol. So I'd say I was high risk. I have never been arrested and never even had a speeding ticket. I was so worried about doing anything wrong that I made sure I behaved.

Sounds like your mother taught you the value of hard work too. Which in turn you taught your wonderful children.

How do all these protesters get so much time off work? o_O

Your mother was a strong woman. Good for her. Strong parents no matter how rich or poor you are make a country. Seems TV and video games have replaced some parents. As a child TV was one channel and games were out doors. You did a good job with your children.

If we're talking actual work, well, in MN I can say, because Governor Walz shut work down. Where do you think most of the poor communities work? They're at minimum wage jobs from restaurants, small business, or even larger companies working a line, for example but not limited too. Those were deemed non-essential for 2 months.

Then you have a bunch of either drop-out teen's-20 somethings, or indoctrinated spoiled brats sent home from college with absolutely nothing to do. I remember the trouble I got into as a teen when my friends and I had nothing to do. It's calmed down over here, but the message of George Floyd has been completely lost IMO. Today is his funeral hosted by Rev. Al Sharpton. IIRC Biden is showing up as well.

I am waiting for a UPS shipment of masks for my staff. Just looked up UPS tracking. My shipment is in the area, but delivery is delayed due to civil unrest. Great.

Same here. I day trade options in the stock market and my trading computer died. Ordered new parts to build a new one. Ended up not being bad but the delivery date kept changing. In the end it was only delayed1 day. Got the last box yesterday and had it running a few hours later.

Yesterday evening there was a shooting on the freeway here in town that sent one man to the hospital. News reports were almost non-existent and described it as a drive by shooting. The state troopers closed the westbound freeway lanes for several hours to investigate.

Not letting the public know any more than the fact there was a shooting is a dissservice to the community and tended to put people on edge.

I'm thinking that was gang related Mike.

I read something that alluded to that, but not confirmed.

It seems our shootings last week were just run of the mill gang bangers "talking" with each other in the language they know best. Nothing to do with rioting.

Notice theses commie terrorists never confiscate territory in the Deep South like Alabama, Texas, Mississippi?

It’s always Nuevo Yore, Seattle, Detroit, Chicago.
