I mentioned my problem in another thread but thought I would start another. I bought the 310 aero in 2020 as a 2019 for $1,700 from an online company in California. Had it delivered to the house in Indy. I used it for our two week vacation in 20 then put it in storage. Then used it again in 2021 then again this summer for two weeks…. But this year left it on the swim platform after we got back from vacation for a week in the sun uncovered. Got back to the boat and noticed the tubes separating from the transom. Zodiac has a 5 year warranty…. So tried to do a warranty claim on line….. that was near impossible…. Not near….. impossible. So called California and they gave me a dealer in Michigan that I could not find online. They were very helpful and contacted zodiac on my behalf. Zodiac agreed to replace the dinghy but are back ordered until November. I asked if I could upgrade to an aluminum hull and pay the difference…. Haven’t heard back yet on that….. but was impressed they offered to replace it rather then reglue it…. Which the dealer said they could do couple of take aways….. zodiac wants you to register the dinghy when you buy it…. I didn’t ..in their warranty agreement they say they can deduct a percentage of your warranty if you don’t. Turned out not the case with me so a break there. Second was buy a zodiac from a registered dealer if not they won’t honor the warranty…. I was good with the cali dealer…. But that was luck…. I was all about price
Update…. So to upgrade from the aero to a aluminum rib ….. zodiac wants $500 that’s probably the best deal I have seen in a long time…. A highfield same size is $4,500 Okay I like zodiac again….
There is a reason everyone says “zodiac” when talking about inflatables. They set the bar. “I bought a new Avon, Achilles, etc”! A what? “A new zodiac”. Oh, very nice”. I was at my cancer doctor this morning, when I told him I recently bought a new zodiac even he knew what I meant.
Deal is done…. A little under $500 plus shipping the new one to the dealer. They want the old one back to take more pictures as it really progressed to fall apart…. Very surprised ….. they also want it to cut it up to take it out of circulation All in all a good deal for me to go from an aero floor to an aluminum floor. I only get my remaining warranty which is 2 years but dealer said they never had a claim on the aluminum and I won’t deflate this one. I’ll just leave it on the swim platform in heated storage in the winter
Tell you blue, keep it inflated year round. Mine is coming home end of month in daughter van, then going in our heated back room for winter. It’s the constant roll up kills them. I drain all gas out of motor, then the motor comes in house too.
