Yes it's been quite from me.

As strange as it sounds, in '89 Sea Ray actually offered a central vac. option for the 300 DA. I don't have it and can't imagine taking up valuable storage space in the cabin for that, especially considering I can vac. the entire cabin with a small shop vac.

I agree Scorpio. I have an 88, and it has central vac (that I dont use) My small Oreck works well, and I dont have to drag out 30 ft of hose. I am going to remove it, and fabricte a door for storage. I also have an ice maker right next to it.

Where did they mount the ice maker? I assume it runs off the fresh water system, so where did they drain it, the cabin sump? How much ice does it make per day? Not that I want one, just curious.

Like this.
UV resistant clear coating.

I have spent the better part of the night working to get it in and hooked up. Now it's back out and install the new lighted switches below the new dash.

Just an FYI that Mallory makes a marine distributor that may be better suited towards your application. I know Prestolite/Mr. Gasket is a big conglomerate that includes both Accel and Mallory, so I don't know if they could possibly retrofit the Accel distributors to make them marine rated (cap change?).

Doug

Yes,,,, it is all in the caps.

I am not going to get into a discussion about this becasue it's up to you. I said I have taken it under personal advisement and I am making a choice to use these parts. The Marine caps are marine in name, colour and some alloys only.

There is a place where you put time and have been at this a while and you know what will work and a lemmings pack telling you it can't work IT"S NOT WHITE!

Use your head or be dictated to by a blind industry that says marine and not marine and pay 3 times as much for the same damn thing but we change it to white and it's safe.

And then,,,,,,,,,,,, there are starters and altantores where it is true it can spark brushes and kill you.... Be smart and be aware......... This is life..

This post was about my dash and wood work. Some one jumped on the distributors setign on the counter and my hint I was going to install HEI and it blew up worse than the perceived explosion from the HEI parts.

And they were a side comment of all things. let it go on my part folks. I am not saying it's safe,,,,, that would be irresponsible and libel on my part. I just chose to use them and do not recommend any one use High Performance parts on a boat engine of any kind!

Love your spunk! Not to mention a good looking woman with power tools is....well, pretty sweet! You go Heather! You have done a wonderful job on your boat. Just don't cheat on us and get involved with some guy that doesn't get IT.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaa I just need to SNAP and take names and Kick Arss once in a while.

As a girl I am perceived to be unaware of all things. Then I must prove I have some understanding of any thing at all......... As a mechanic now for the last 25 years also a pilot a member of Mensa. I still get people who come to the shop and ask to speak to the Technician. When I tell them it's me, I on occasion get a sheepish grin and they leave letting me know that no "GIRL" is going to work on there boat. So ya know. I guess some times it gets to me and I Snap...... But I am a nice person..... Wunna go COW TIPEN?

A member of Mensa but please don't tell me you go to meetings....please? Cow tipen isn't as fun as it used to be, you wants we make some moonshine and stare at the stars? Most of my relatives live in your neck of the woods...

Cow tippin' does get old after a while, but we used to liven things up a little every once in a while by bringing along two people who had no clue what we were doing. Two of us would go tip a cow, and then we'd go running off laughing... Inevitably, the two guests would want to give it a try, so we'd point to a bull and tell them to go tip that one. Must have done that 5 times. Good thing none of them got seriously hurt so I can laugh about it without regrets now.

Was alcohol involved in any of this? :wow: Is cow tippin' considered "PC" nowadays??
