In reality, ANY political, religious or other related threads inherently will provoke controversy, intended or not. So the WHY of a post has little to do with reason.

I think comparing controversy on some bulletin board to real life controversy is a stretch, however.
 
After readin this thread here's my thoughts... not that any of you care...

1. I would love to screw Palin, AND her daughter. NOT the young one (well in 4 years her too)! O and after she loses (gives birth to) the kid.
2. Everyone that has an issue with what was said or done (virtually) needs to calm the f*ck down. Or don't and join the raft up.
3. Palin is not the brighest tool in the shed.. can't argue that.
4. Lettermen didn't make that up on his own, he just read what was on a queue card. You ever say anything you think you shouldn't have? People get over it, or they should unless they are anal retentive and then they should be "punched in the throat".
5. The media sucks and can twist any story any way they want, be it positive or negative.

Sure, works for me, with one BUT. The Letterman show scripted this, they thought about it, Letterman reviewed the material. This was not some slip of the tongue in the chaos of a moment.

There is if you make it that way... if you just let things go and learn to laugh a bit all that controversy goes ba byes. Hence how the media (in partcular Nancy Grace) makes millions every day. By harping on issues that people could really care less about, until they fall victim to the details by becoming noisey or bored or in turn actually liking the controversry they create.

O and one more note on this (you can tell I'm bored at work), we all do it. I can't count how many times I've said something stupid in conversation even after thinking about it for some time, saying it, and then getting those strange uncomfortable looks. It doesn't become bad until that 1 person (media) calls you out on it. If it wasn't for that one POS you would have been all good. Now that guy, he needs a swift kick to the nuts!

The thing that kills me the most is the media is so worried about getting the story that the will kill innocent people, destroy careers, and masacre peoples lives all for their professional benefit. And society is the reason for it. We all watch and eat it up. Well most of us... even I find myself guilty of it. Flight 447 is very interesting to me, but I can relate since I'm not a fan of flying. I love it and think the technology is amazing, do it all the time, yet scared to death of it.

OK I'm done with me rant for now.

Maybe MSNBC and Matt *** man will pick up the story and bash boat owners and say "serves them right"

*sigh* It was an exaggeration for literary intrigue. For the record, I only punch old ladies using walkers in the throat. All of the others are safe.:wink:
