This is a curious thread and frankly, I don't understand it. I am politically homeless...disenchanted by the big brother statism practiced by the Republicans and the bigger brother statism practiced by the Democrats. I think that any reasonable person looking at the political landscape today is appalled at what we have in leadership.

In the interests of disclosure, I gave money to Bob Barr...knowing that was a wasted effort. I also have previously long been involved in fairly high state level Republican politics.

Why does she scare people? Would Palin have been any worse than Biden? Doubt it. A little common sense couldn't hurt. I found Palin to be a refreshing change to the political landscape...yes a little naive, yes a bit rough around the edges...but refreshingly genuine. Her balance to the ticket allowed me to vote for someone with whom I disagreed on immigration, 1st amendment and taxes.

Perhaps the OP was suffering from a lithium imbalance or something. I can't believe he could have been serious. If anyone even suggested such a course of action to the current first lady, or Pelosi, or Madeline Albright...all of whom have taken vastly more disingenuous and intellectually dishonest public positions...the repercussions would be profound. Hopefully, political discourse can be had at a bit higher level...but who knows.

Let's face facts the only reason the "Progressives" will not leave3 her alone is because they are scared of her. They are doing a wonderful job of keeping her namee in the forefront. My comments on Letterman are really simple, his Palin humor is not humor----maybe he took his current wife to a baseball game and she knocked up, that was the reason he didn't her for some 5 years thereafter.

I hold not political affiliation, I vote (didnt this election because it was pathetic for both sides) for whoever I feel will do the best job, I dont care if they are reps or dems.

And if you think one party can "preserve our sport" better than th e other, you are mistaken. Politicians will make whatever decision will best line their own or their constituents pockets or support an agenda they have.

My wife is one of the most intelligent people (not just woman) I have ever had the pleasure to converse and spend time with. She makes Palin look like a dolt. I am far from being threatened by intelligent women.

The current VP seems to be a dolt as well, as far as I have experienced/read about him.

And frankly, 90+% of politicians have bastardized your government into their own private corporation, while you fight over political affiliation (as I have so well proven in this thread, by the way) and take sides against each other by party, all of the while blinded to the fact they have taken posts which were supposed to be filled by citizens in turn, and have made careers out of them, all the while monopolizing on it to retire eventually richer than most entrepreneurs who have actually done something tangible.

You post a thread on a forum and then push back on people that don't agree with you, as well as to those that respond negatively about thread that's trying to provoke? If you don't want people to push back or disagree, don't put stuff like that out there.

You're probably a nice guy, but if you simply read what you write and how you respond to people (objectively), it looks like you are trying see how many skunks you can poke.

I'm too busy taking care of my family, work, and having fun on the water to give a crap about any of that stuff that doesn't impact me or my family. Everyone is entitled to their opinion...when it's solicited. But if you're going to force your opinion on others, then you are going to have to put up with people that disagree.
