Greetings. I'm trying to install a hailer horn on the hard top of my 460 DA and I started the wire from the underside of the hard top where I removed the round access port (where the VHF is mounted to the hard top). Then I fished this new speaker wire down the STBD side of the arch where I removed the large panel, and I've hit a road block. I am trying to get the wire from there to the helm by going forward. I see some "chases" that are a black corrugated "hose" and have wires already in them. But so far I've not been able to get the speaker wire to come out anywhere forward of the arch and I can't see where it might come out. Tips?

Also, I need to fish a new coaxial cable from the forward stateroom TV, along the PORT side of the hull (behind the head, behind the galley), to about midships where it will attach to the splitter for the Glomex antenna. Tips? For this one, it's not a simple matter of attaching to the existing coax and pulling it on through, due to all the wire tie connections holding the old coax in place.

Thinking about buying one of those wire fishing rods...

YES! Go to local store and pick up the glow in the dark "fishing sticks" that are in 3' sections. I ran all speaker wire and power for an amp using those. They are fantastic and one has a nice point on it. That sucker can be pushed through some pretty tough situations. Depending on what you're doing I would also recommend leaving a string in the chase when you do fish through. Next time, you can just tie off to the string and pull.

From where you are at you need to go further down. Pull the fuel valve panel loose and go to there. From there you can go forward. I have found that if you pull the two small panels (one forward and one aft) that are inside the starboard helm access door it greatly facilitates running any wires to the helm.

f8dog is on the right track for that cable. For the cable to the front, you will need to pull the fridge out, from there with the sticks there is a path along the hull or down into the hull under the floor, under the bed then up to the TV cabinet.

Thanks all- for this helpful information. I'll see what I can do, after the incoming snow storm we're supposed to get!

Yesterday we got the wire run for the hailer. It took a little finesse and I had not thought about going back behind the fuel manifold but that worked well. Thank you for the intel!
