Windshield Actuator

Mine didn’t work... I disassembled the actuator completely found lots of corrosion inside cleaned up the corrosion lubed it up with dielectric grease reassembled and it works perfectly. It’s not a hard job just take pictures as you disassemble so you can reassemble it correctly

How did you get the motor assembly apart where the contacts are?

If it’s not working you have nothing to loose
It works but it sticks in or out and its the internal limit switches cause you can go push or pull which ever way you need it to go and gently force it in the right direction. Had it off last year and cleaned and lube cylinder and it worked so so for rest of year, so need to get inside to clean the limitswitches.

If it is traveling to far it is hitting the limit switch (its there to disconnect power from motor so it doesn;t stay on) not being able to go any further. If the switches aren't functioning the motor will keep running and strip gears or push ram out.

It goes to its limit then stops and won't return without a little help. Same when opening needs a little helping hand once started goes till it stops then needs help getting started

Wow Korkie. That’s cheap, real cheap. I just called the Michigan marine store to order the part. They are looking it up. We’ll see. A while back my starboard windshield wiper wasn’t working and I figured the motor went bad. Since wipers, IMHO, are like peeing in the wind I wasn’t in a hurry to fix it. Not with this motor going I’m guessing the panel is the issue. I’m hoping there would be a lot more problems if the EIM failed.

Mine would act up once in a while (not open or close on command). I had helm panel up this past week and thought I'd try a new switch and it appears the problem is now solved...

Welcome to the pizzle. I’m down in Stuart.
OMG - Small world. I have met a few folks on here that are somewhat close - but Hollywood would be the closest. Enjoy Florida, we have talked about doing the same - heading south - but haven't made a decision as yet.

Okay boys and girls, riddle me this.

Come to find out my starboard panel works fine and controls the vent as it should.

However...

The blower motor switch in the cabin ALSO operates the vent. What the F—k does that mean. How does that happen?
My boat is completely original with one prior owner. The only thing that guy changed was the CD player and added a Garmin 4212.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know and if you need pictures of the electrical panel I’ll take some tomorrow.

Also, no matter what I do I can’t trace voltage for the starboard batt.

Happy Memorial Day to all.

maybe you need to sacrifice a small animal to appease the gremlins... ;)

Just had to replace mine. Got on e bay. Just verify size with old one. Installed today and works great. Just a little slower but i dont mind
