I just replaced my battery charger after discovering that the "Y" splitter to the shore power was sending the dreadful "REVERSED POLARITY" signal. Yep it fried the battery charger. So after I swapped Y splitters and battery chargers, everything was back to normal, or so I thought. I'm getting a click for every time I push one of the windlass up or down buttons. I don't think one thing had to do with the other. Does anyone think differently or it just happened to crap out simultaneously:huh::huh::huh: P.S. Don't ever buy an "open box buy" Y splitter from anywhere no matter how good the deal is:smt013:smt013:smt013

Will your engines crank ? Might wanna check your batteries to make sure they are charged fully with water in them, then check your windlass breaker to make sure your getting proper voltage to the windlass module. I have seen the windlass breaker half tripped and only allowing minimal voltage to the module. Battery terminals tight?

Sorry I forgot to mention that I did check the batteries and they were still full even though port side was not charged. After replacing the charger, I let her charge up for several hours and she cranked right up. I then proceeded to take her out in Lake Pontchatrain and everything worked fine with the exception of the windlass. I checked the breaker and it was not popped out, so what gives?

do you have forward foot switches AND helm controls on that model?

there are several recent threads (last 2 months) on trouble-shooting windlass problems. in my own case it was oxidised wiring in the anchor chain bay that needed replacing. i might mention that on my boat i cant hear the solenoid clicking when standing at the helm switches, as the solenoids are located on the port side of the cockpit. so just maybe thats why you cant hear the clicking either?

i would suggest the first thing to test is the helm switch (not the rocker, the pull out one). its easy to drop it down and put a resistance meter across the contacts. after that, its a matter of testing through the system. have a 10 meter spare cable ready with crocodile clips!

What charger do you have?

I am just wondering so I can provide the troubleshooting to take the charger out of the equation.
