Whitney Houston Dies at 48

I will always love that one song....what's it called?....

Great talent for sure.

Her most famous words that she said on live tv... Crack is Wack.

R.I.P Whitney. :smt089

Damn you Bobby Brown!!!

I was sitting in the bar in the Beijing Hilton in 2005 and in walked a couple of pretty obnoxious Americans - the head guy ordered two Budweiser’s with a double Jack Daniels chaser. He looked at me and said "Do you think that is American enough for them?". Whitney H. was there for a concert - they were staying in the hotel. It was Bobby B. - he proceeded to make a complete @ss of himself in the next two hours...

Very sad. I saw her in Vegas several years ago at the MGM. She put on a wonderful show. Her song "I Will Always Love You" is a classic and still stirs my heart whenever I hear it.

RIP.

Tragic and sad.........difficult, mythical, lifestyle......hard to remain human.......

Being an Old School D.J., I have had the opportunity to hang out with several celebrities back in the day, and still today, and I remember hanging out with Mr. Brown for a couple of days when they were in town. What I DO remember was that, we were the same age, and how much of an a$$hole he was BACK THEN because he had a little money to play with. Lately, I have been paying particular attention to what these people do when they get a little money to play with, and I have to admit, they do, do some strange things when the cash is flowing. Just think about Michael Jackson, God rest his soul, all the sh!t he had to endure as a child, and then after he grew up, all the strange sh!t he did after that. Jay Z and Beyonce trademarked their daughter's name so no one could profit off of the name "Blue Ivy". I mean c'mon man, how much ****ing money do you REALLY NEED???
O.J.,Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Demi Moore, Amy Winehouse. Even the sports figures in the media too!

I guess I'm getting a little wiser in my 44 years of existence and even more a little frugal. I could probably go on for hours about the strange and weird sh!t that I see with the entertainment industry and everything, because my son has taken over the reins with the D.J. business and I'm his manager/booking agent. He had an offer to D.J. for a rapper (whom I will not name) when he was 16 years old, 6 years ago, to go on tour with him and all that crap and was set to make well over six figures as his D.J. at 16 years old, but I put my foot down and said NO, this is not setting a good example. Turns out that rapper, is now, A STRUGGLING rapper/actor and his well has almost run dry.
The bottom line is keep what means the most to you, CLOSE TO YOU, DON'T BE NEW TO THIS, BE TRUE TO THIS, don't sweat the small stuff, go to Church, don't get caught up in the drug life, help an old person, JUST GENUINELY DO THE RIGHT THING, and at the end of the day, all will work itself out

Well said K.K . Most Celebs don't know how to handle money and fame. :smt021

As for Michael Jackson he was a child molester !!!. :smt013

Why would you payout $15 mil to a child if you have done nothing wrong ??. :smt017

Sad end to a talented but tormented life. Is it me or do many artistic types have substance issues to get through the constant rigors of performing?

MM......I think the notoriety, and, pressure to produce, can easily become overwhelming......besides suddenly becoming a "cash machine", a business, you're being told you are "the greatest ever" artist.....modern media has your life under a microscope.....anything material is more than available, but those things in life that Kreole Kid is talking about are absent.....the lifestyle is a myth.......when the "dream fleet" is readily available it no longer "glitters" and those "things" that keep most of "grounded" are hard to reach when you're living above it all.......

I am actually surprised she lasted this long. There have been so many times over the years she was totally whacked out of her head this was inevitable. I remember I was watching a show when she was introduced by her Aunt (Dionne Warwick). She had natural talent that comes around maybe once in 25 years. Her demons are now gone and she is able to rest peacefully. Bobby Brown is a criminal and a punk and he will get his one day!

Just another junkie whose kid will no longer have a mother. In my eyes, she is a loser who chose drugs over her family

don't blame Bobby - the only one to blame is the person you see in the mirror!

Much truth in that.

I suspect that the work of performing has little to do with the fact they are drug users.

I feel quite the opposite, after too many "Behind The Music" shows one learns that the "voice" or "talent" does not come with all the additional tools to survive in show biz. The shy little girl may not have it in her to come out and be "Whitney", even if that little girl thinks that is what she wants to do, so it is a cycle of up for the show and down to relax; most likley started by folks she trusted most.

What a voice she had. :smt001
