White steam?

Ever since this thread started I've been watching my exhaust a lot more. Really didn't c anything different from what I normally do other then the other day. I left my canal and headed out . A nice trail coming out of port side exhaust. Got curiouse did a 180 turn to head back and the trail switxhed from port to starboard side. Now although I don't have an explenation for this I figured somebody might? The transition was instantanious.

White steam during these cool mornings with the sun (read heat) on one side of the boat is normal. Happens all the time down here and is nothing to worry about. As long as all your levels are correct, antifreeze, oil, and temp is constant no problems.

White steam is a combination of condensation, humidity etc etc blah blah that again is normal during cool morning, cool water, warm air when sun hits surfaces. Every year my boat steams during our very short winter and spring but is back to 'normal' by mid April or so.

Its normal... Especially if you have under water exhaust and the humidity is high or the water is cold... I have steam all the time and it is normal...

I get the part that everyone days it's normal. If that's the case that it's normal then why is it more in the port engine then the starboard?

Most times when u have twins one motor runs at a dufferent temp. May only b a couple of degrees off but that could b the answer

Because both engines, exhausts, fuel tanks, cooling water pumps etc are not EXACTLY the same and I think direction of boat has something to do with it as well (which side the sun is on). Happens all the time to almost every boat, as long as temps are ok, there is no problem.

So is everyone else experiencing same issues?

Update. Took boat out for nice channel cruise this evening to practice and was hoping to get even more practice docking ..... was beaitiful.

Ok here's the report. When I got out of the channel and got up in the rpm beyond 2 I noticed more white steam like before. To trouble shoot this even more I used an Infrared temperature gun in each manifold and here's the results: port 120 / starboard 122.

Engine temps: port 165 / starboard 170.

One thing I did notice that might male a little difference. ... The starboard side exhaust is totally submerged when cruising and the port is not. I have more fuel (approximately 1/4 tank) more fuel in the starboard side fuel tank than the port.

Now that you have more info to help you help me.....
What are your thoughts?

Different temp thermostats in each engine?

The difference in water level on exhaust ports would also seem to explain it.

Manifold temps are right on IMO.

It's totally normal. I took video today specifically for this tread
