So what does everyone have on their list for upgrades?

  • Were hooking up the satellite TV.
  • Installing Flat Panels and connecting them to the Fusion and Apple TV.
  • Garmin Sensors for the Engine conditions.
  • Swap out the two old stereo amplifiers for two new efficient Fusion amps.
  • Check out the water heater and see what the deal is.
  • Possibly upgrade the Autopilot so it integrates with the chart plotter.

Its a nice short list!!!

So what ya got?

1. Rebuild both racor 75900 fuel /water separators.
2. remove cockpit ice maker replace with fridge only
3. throw the clarion stereo in the garbage and replace with a quality unit (FUSION) for the bridge/cockpit
4. Install JL amps under helm
5. Install JL speakers/subs in both the bridge and cockpit.

if I don't spend all the money on dumb stuff like fuel filters, oil, belts, sea water pumps, impellers etc.....

I just had the props balanced and bottom painted the boat.

For spring there's nothing major. Just oil changes, fuel and oil filters, routine maintenance stuff.

Nice short list here too:

1/ clear off the remaining snow
2/ replace (3) batteries
3/ Install fuel flow meters
4/ Install removeable Downriggers

Well, let's see. Last summer I spent $9000 on a new engine and 9 weeks without a boat. This year oil change, new fuel filters and oh yeah -
Boating Boating and More Boating.
I hope!

Emergency replacement of the stove top. Wires wore through and shorted out in the stove (No fire). Getting 3 burner 1200 watts per burner. Wiring to stove is 10 gauge so all is fine. Looked at upgrading to oven but we loose too much space and the cabinet work looks like a big item.
Generator using anti freeze at large rate done it before need to rebuild heat exchanger.

I guess this is not a fare question for me to answer, as I just got my boat this past September. I have a very large list but this is what I have going on so far.

Refurbing my genset - runs great but has lots of neglect and rust so I am fixing all of that and rebuilding the pumps and engine mounts and repainting to keep the rust away for a while.

Building a Wet bar with grill is the next task.
Cockpit stereo upgrade, new speakers and wired remotes.
Need to pull the auto pilot modules and have Raymarine do firmware updates on them.
I like the Garmin bilge sensor thing a lot, I will need to look into that, thanks OP for mentioning that. Please keep us updated on that front.

I am also considering dripless shaft seals, but unsure of the cost on that one. My stuffing boxes are pretty worn and in need of repair, I need to see if repacking them is enough to hold me over until next season.

The rest of my plans are going to happen along the way. Like all new injector lines and things like that.

Just closed on the boat a few weeks back;

New aft deck canvas and a ER camera for the Garmin is on the list.

Well lets see, New house battery alternator, complete polish and wax, repair some small stuff, ie; tighten hinges, screws, new rode for anchor. That's about it for now. Maybe if there enough funds, change out cabin lighting to LED.

Sell the boat and buy a large center console/v-berth with twin outboards!

Just a couple things starting with new VHF & AIS, adding Garmin fuel sensor.

1 Bottom Paint
2 Outdrive Paint
3 New gimbal bearing & anything else they find like bellows
4 Engine aligned
5 Some minor repairs fill & gel coat some extra holes from old transducer, Dings from fuel dock that jumped in front of me
6 New zincs
7 Add Saltaway engine flush system (been using muffs at haul out)
8 Might replace all plastic thru hulls with new SS

Carver:
-install new VHF radio
-paint bottom
-buff/polish
-non skid paint hardtop
-install new salon AC unit that I never found time to do in the fall

Pioneer:
-Gelcoat touch up some small chips
-paint bottom with Pettit vidi white
-re paint engine cover
-install new cushions and bimini top
-Polish all

Zodiac:
-Install faux teak seadek
-Install new cushions
-engine cover repainted

Did bottom paint, zincs and repaired a bent rudder in October.

Now I'm in the middle of a complete interior remodel:

Forward cabin is done - except for teak and holly flooring
Aft cabin is 50% done - still need to reconfigure water tanks and install Cal King bed in aft cabin
Forward head is 50% done - probably another 2 days work to wrap it up
New vinyl, new headliner, new teak and holly flooring, and furniture in the salon
Refurbish counters, flooring and cabinetry in the galley.

Looking forward to being done with the work .. want to drink cocktails on the water!

Just finished:

1-6 new jl audio speakers w/sub and new amp
2-indirect rgb led lighting in all the hidey holes

On the truck as I write this:

Extended swim platform

How do you like your Pioneer? I am seeing a few of them on Lake Erie but I don't know much about them. Good looking boat...

Seriously considering SeaDek on the swim platform, and a stainless cockpit sink. Other than that, routine maintenance and upkeep. I dropped a lot last year so I'm hoping to get away with minimal spending this off season. Oh yeah... A Bluetooth audio controller for my Fusion stereo as well.
