Lost my KVH in Sandy, and I don't want a Sat TV antenna. I just want an analog/digital antenna, not too expensive... What do you all recommend? I need an AM/FM antenna too. any recommendations? thanks

On my boat in St. Louis, I use an RCA multi-directional flat digital antenna that I picked up at Walmart. It comes with coax and amplifier, works fantastic and very easy to install. It was less than $30 and works great. Actual size is about 1/4" thick, 8"X11".

I recently purchased and installed a Glomex 14" with the amplifier and after reading a lot on here, was not expecting too much. However, I have been presently surprised. On Lake Lanier, GA, we were able to pick up around 25 channels including ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox. Most stations are probably 35-45 miles away as the crow flies. You can go to a website called DTV Reception and enter a zip code around where you boat and it will tell you what to expect.

Don't know about the TV, but for the am/fm I have a dedicated Shakespeare whip antenna which is working great!

The Glomex works great on my boat in Grafton, IL. When I was at the Yacht Club I had a Antennas Direct Clearstream 2 on the dock because we sat in a hole. It worked great (They are a client of mine).

My glomex amp lights up but no channels. Just installed access 15in with built in tuner and it's ac/dc

I removed my KVH mount and had the hole fiber glassed... I decided that we don't need TV on our boat, other than DVDs... The next boat we will go with a satellite antenna again... BTW, I have my old submerged KVH and mount if anyone needs parts...

I am on the North end of the lake at Port Royale do you think we will get any channels north of Browns Bridge

we have stayed on the hook at an island at the mouth of the Chestee River which is a mile or so north of Brown's Bridge and it worked pretty good as I remember. Always works better in clear weather. We tend to favor the south end up in Bald Creek and it works really well there.

Can anyone help with the great South Bay Area. Prefably Babylon and fire island area. Will I get reception out on the water around that area with antenna? Thanks

This is a neat website. Plug in the zipcode or name of the town nearest to you. You an click on the red pointer and drag it where ever you like and it will give you an idea of what is available. I must say it works pretty good.
