Thanks Boltman. I know the 6.2L smallblock is a longer stroke 5.7L but it is also supposed to have 10 more HP than the 7.4.... though I am not sure about the touque. I was wondering if the 400 lb weight savings and possible lower fuel consumption was real.

Not sure how it translates on larger boats but my '95 250 had the 7.4 and a dock mate had the 5.7.. (all else was equal though I'm a bit more svelt) the power to weight trade off was not worth it. I was only 1 mph faster at best and more often than not much thirstier at the pumps........
