It truly depends on your boating plans whether on a small lake or the ocean.
I asked this same question 8 months ago while we were preparing our trip and as it has ended up we have not needed anything outside of basic tools and we have traveled from Charleston SC and are currently enjoying a cold one on another nice day in Key West for the past month.
Although we are planning a big section from Key West non stop to Naples depending on weather in 2 weeks you are always close to some services just keep up with the regular maintenances and changing the impellers etc.
The one thing I believe no boater should be without is BoatUS or Seatow. This service is the best value for money in the world and the associated discounts with marina and gas discounts from BoatUS it has already paid off the yearly membership for us.
