What apps do you like for android?

Yep sorry Todd no app to do that in the iPhone apple app store. You have to sign up with the carrier with AT&T they charge an extra $15 per month and cap data & 5G then extra charge over 5.

Not sure about Verizon.

Used to be able to jailbreak and use an app called MyWi to do this. But since iOS 5 AT&T has been finding and changing plans on folks that do this.

This is not true anymore. AT&T used to charge extra for tether/hotspot but it's included now the $50/mo data plan. Per AT&T's website:

"DataPro 5GB for iPhone 4S includes 5GB of data for use in the US. Stream music, download videos, files, and apps; plus send email, surf the web and tether to share your broadband connection with your laptop or netbook. DataPro 5GB is required for use of Internet Tethering or Personal Hotspot."

Crap! Thanks Tom. I was all set to go get an iPhone. Now I have to rethink it AGAIN!!!!

Verizon has great deals on the Razor right now. I may go check that out instead.

The Razr sucks. If you decide to go the Android route you would be better to choose Samsung or HTC.

Huh. . .phone plans offer seem to change faster than I change underwear. These plans are different than what I was offered back in December.

Probably will be different than what is offered next September. . . .
One thing is for sure. . . if they can find a way to charge you for tethering on an android. . they will do it.
