this makes three tests i've read on this model that reports fuel economy and top speed numbers that are comparable to my old 340. unfortunately, BOATING MAGAZINE did not archive their test from a few months ago.

i think i'd stick with the searay. i am not a searay snob, but it WILL hold value better and is a more marketable name at resale time.

Rondds,

Thanks for the heads up. Might check it out, but I really want the hard top and dark wood for the interior (think it looks cool and the hard top is a great feature I think. I heard they are putting a hard top on all sedans by mid-model year this year standard even the 44 Sedan that Festivus just bought.

Festivus, where did you buy from? You said it was coming down, did it make it in one piece? Where are the photos?

Flettis- I didn't hear anything yesterday about the status of the boat. I assume if a truck carrying a 44' boat was blown off of I-95 in that storm it would've made the news! I will call first thing this morning and pics will be forthcoming ASAP!

We bought from Clark's Landing so the boat is going to their Shady Side, MD facility which is a good ways from me in Philly. So, unfortunately, it's not that easy for me to stalk their yard.

Also, I hadn't heard about the hardtop, that wasn't an option for me, but I would've loved a hard top.

Best of luck, keep us posted.

Flettis -

I know they didn't sell the 36 Sedan Bridge that was at the Seattle Boat Show although it appeared as if they sold all the bigger boats and took 2 orders for the 48 Sundancer. My very casual assessment was that this 36 seems very high priced with no diesel engines compared to all the other boats at the show. For whatever it's worth, when we went to the Meridian area, we looked at the 341 and it is priced considerably less with diesels. The salesman was talking to a prospect who was very interested in buying one and I heard him say they had sold all their inventory and had deposits down on all their 2006 341's that were brand new.

For our cool weather, I love the hard top option, too. One of my big disappointments for this boat is the bridge -- it didn't look like you could really seat 3 adults around the table! All their pictures have only one adult and the rest children seated . . and its disappointing that none of the seating areas in the salon would convert to a bed, even a twin. But of course the styling is just beautiful!

I'd be interested to hear more about your sea trial - where were you? Was it windy also? How was docking?

THANKS !! Kathy

Sea Trial was on the Chesapeake. The day was windy...very windy and it was rough, the boat ran nice and solid. At a slow cruise it just pounded the waves...much better than my 320DA. The boat also ran very dry. One thing on the Gas is that I think they are the right engines for the 36 Sedan...the Meridian only has 6.2 engines and seems very underpowered. The flybridge is nicer on the Meridian, but when it comes down to it the engines, and overall fit and finish, along with the sea trial....and the extra dealer money is what has me thinking seriously about the boat. Docking was in a sheltered area so docking was not an issue. I would get the boat with a thruster without a doubt...no questions asked.

Around here the 341 Meridian's that are coming out are selling fast and I think the dealers are getting way too much for a new boat...especially when you take a look at second and third year values on the boat vs second and third year values on just about any sea ray product.

I am still not completely sold...I like the boat...will take it out again....see what kind of deal I can work...and go from there I suppose.

I walked through a 360 again on Monday at the dealership. For a 36 foot boat, it sure has a ton of space inside. Finish is top notch. Separate head and shower is really nice.

Just looking at it, though, I wonder if it's top heavy.

Also, this one at the dealer is used, barely, and has a price of something like 350k.

The accoutrement is top shelf to be sure, but you can buy a 480 sedan for that, almost. I know for a fact that can buy a 450EB for less than that. Not as new or "nice" maybe. But, different strokes for different folks. Not-so-used 400DB's with diesel engines are certainly available for numbers like that. You can get hem new enough to add warranties if you like.

I think that is the idea behind the 'go large" statement.

It is absolutely beautiful, but is very expensive.

Wow, they want $350k for a used one? I can't imagine it would sell for much more than $250k unless it is diesel.

I have been a huge SeaRay fan for years and have owned several but last summer we wanted a brand new bridge style boat. Searay did not have the 36 available yet and we ended up with a Silverton 36 Convertible 2006. The Silverton has a much larger bridge and is 40'4" LOA and is nearly a foot wider. I got the 8.1 Crusaders with generator, faux leather, second fridge in cockpit, two flat screen tvs with dvd players, vacu-flush, all canvas, windlass, nearly everything on the order sheet and paid $230 brand new. Even has solid cherry cabinets, no particle board. That 36 Sedan Bridge is beautiful but the price is just crazy.

Pricing for nicely appointed boat at boat show before any deals were struck was 310k for a new one. The used pricing is wack...they are crazy. I think you could get a NEW one with a TON of features for 300k based on what I have seen so far.

The best price I have seen on a new one here in Northern Virginia is around $347K with gas engines. The local dealer has two of them. I expect the price may go down when the 2008 models start coming out.

In my honest opinion, I think PW Marina just always expects to make WAY TOO MUCH money on the boats they sell b/c they are PW Marina. I shopped my 320 around and found a deal for 35k less than their best deal. I bought from another dealer and had the boat trucked over for $800.

No argument. I bought a 260DA and 320DA used from PWM, and I think the deals were fair, not great. The prep of the used boats was first class, as was the warranty follow up. They are simply not competitive on diesel boats--I guess there is just not enough demand on the upper Potomac, because they sell so few, when a used one comes in the price is out of sight. So I am the Philistine who bought his 420DA with Cummins power from the Tiara Dealer over on the Bay. PWM wanted 460K for an 04 420DA with hardtop and thruster.... two options my boat lacks. Incredible. They also currently list an '01 48DB with Cats for 569K. No way. Great people and great service, but they own the market. To get a deal you have to go elsewhere and be willing to DIY on service.
