Ok, everyone. We were on the boat this weekend and I noticed the bottle for the overflow was empty. Should this be full when in only being used?

Also check the vinyl hose that connects the overflow bottle to the generator. It is just a clear vinyl hose and it tends to get brittle over time. If it cracks and comes off either end, it can result in antifreeze leaking out too.

If that hose breaks while the genset is running, "leak" is a mild term for what happens.

That's happened to me twice, because I thought only the end had become brittle. The replacement tubing cost me less than $1 from the hardware store.
