I dont have much of a problem falling to sleep, however the wife does because of the waves from wind or other boats at night while we are slipped. Any suggestions on the best way to tie up the boat or anything else to minimize boat movement at night?

Thanks

What else????

I’m joking, but I think there’s little you can do!
Little waves slapping the hull are part of the appeal of sleeping aboard though…

Find a new marina!

Just mention sex and that will put her to sleep for the night. . . :smt043

We sleep in the aft cabin, doesnt raise up and down as much. Also added 3" of memory foam to the mattress. My wife SWEARS by the magnetic bands that go on wrists... even though there is NO science behind them working other than the placebo effect. My daughter used to get motion sick, and I got the Dr to issue a 'sugar pill' Rx. Its litterally sugar pills with a fancy name on the bottle to seem like a real Rx. Stopped her motion sickness and now she does not need the 'meds.'

Other than that.. could be a marketing ploy for YOU to get a bigger boat... hey baby... you know those 30' dont rock very much...

That's right, you need a wide beam Sea Ray form the eighties... but if there are waves in your marina, you'll have to move!

buy a good trailer and replace it's shock absorbers

There is a marina that is protected from the lake that I may have to look into.

Not a bad idea, she may even sleep in the car!! lol

I like that idea best!!

The new 610 dancer has a 16' 9" beam. I bet that would cure her wave action issues.

Scott is correct with the snubber on lines.
They make a big difference with the boat getting jerked about..also, Three strand line "gives" so much more than Braided line.
And, if your lines are over sized they will not give much at all.
This maybe why it not comfortable at the dock for her...

If it purely the motion of the ocean....a bigger boat is the only way.
One friend had to upgrade from a 42 Tiara to a boat with a full beam AFT master stateroom because, she didnt like the sound of the water hitting the bow!!!!

Scotch, martinis, rum, wine or whatever it takes.

I like Scott's suggestion on the lines.

Okay, I can field this one as the self appointed dock tying master guy.

Cross your stern lines if possible
Use forward and stern spring lines from your mid-ship cleat
Place snubbers on your bow lines, and one the spring line that is not responsible for keeping you from contacting the dock. (could be forward or aft, depending on whether you are bow or stern in.)

If you can do that, you will be in the best possible position to avoid unpleasant tugs and jerks (water driven wave kind of jerks only, can't do anything about folks with loud boats, stereos, cigarettes, dangling power cords, spiders, etc. etc) and have a good nighty night sleep.

Agree with Scott. Snubbers and cross lines or run a line from the outside stern hook to the dock. Won't eliminate all of it but most.
