Waves rock the boat at night cant sleep

I will also second sleeping in the aft cabin. Our last boat was a Four Winns 298 Vista and was our first cruiser. I was dead set on sleeping in the V berth until I found myself unable to sleep due to the motion. Our marina is in a good cove, and pretty well protected, but still kept me awake.

One night, I decided to give it a whirl in my aft cabin.....LOVED IT!

They have a system out there called something catchy like "rocker-stopper" or something, which is is a set of planes or flaps that you hang out from the sides of your boat when at your berth. Try looking online for it. I'll see if I can find it. I am not sure if they are worth the hassle.

Here they are

How about a 370? No issues with mine at the end of our dock!

Leave the wife in a hotel, and get a girlfriend who likes the motion! :smt043

Uh....if his signature picture is his wife, why in the hell would he consider that? I will refrain from saying anything creepy now.

North Shore Marina and Grand Isle Marina have slips that are completely protected and are in no wake areas. Both are very quiet at night.

Thumbs up on North Shore! Very protected, never any waves at the slip. And close to the lake for a quick sunset cruise! C'mon over!

Im at Barretts currently and I called North Shore just for that reason, you guys are in that little protected cove!

You have good taste. Ladies and boats.
I tie a longer line from the dock up to the aft cleat matching the slope of the transom(so you don't have to step over it) and then spring that line forward back to the dock, snugging the transom into the dock tightly. This diminishes the rocking pretty good on our boats. We don't move much at all.
Here are a couple pictures I found that may help.

He is in a marina that is at the entrance to Spring Lake where hundreds of boats go by during a typical summer week. The no wake law is routinely violated. Since the docks are not floating docks, there is no way to tie a boat so that it will not rock. We sometimes have trouble fueling there because of the idiots going by the fuel dock. Our slip at home is rough as well and we sometimes take wakes over the back of our boat caused by violators of the Michigan wake laws.

Sounds like moving marinas is the best solution if viable for you. In all seriousness, if you do decide to move up to a bigger boat, this was one of the selling points with my wife. We moved from a 26 to a 34. Giving her a genny, heat/air, much more stability and room has helped her enjoy boating significantly more. I'd move up again if I could. Timing is everything though and not being over extended makes boating more enjoyable as well IMHO. Good luck with whatever you end up doing.
