Ok, that is it. I'm cutting the engines. We are not moving from this spot until one thing is made perfectly clear: Every single person aboard The Relaxer will wave exuberantly at anyone we pass or anyone who passes us, whether they are on shore or aboard another watercraft of any type, from cigarette boat on down to canoe. No exceptions.

If you cannot follow this one rule—a rule that everyone else out here on Keuka Lake seems to have no problem adhering to—then you can get the heII off my boat.

So do you wave at everyone when you boat?

Okay, where did you find "Hand?" Haven't seen him since the 60's. Was he one of the Munsters or one of the Adams' family? ...gee, it's tough getting old. Oh, and Stray Cat, we've got the same boat, love it.

You you care what your passenger's wave?

We wave most of the time.
The "hands" name was Thing...The Adams family
One of my favorites

Not Hand. it was thing from the Adam's Family.

...only people with 'small' boats wave...

Will this do?

I usually just wave one finger until I really get to know people.

Yep everyone, and the guests wave too. From the kayaks to the 50'+ yachts to the trailer boaters putting in at the ramp that proceed to idle in the center of the busy no wake zone with limited depth while they situate the guests, cooler, dog, etc and then wonder where the channel is they need to follow out to the bay... Yep they get a wave too.

It's OK I understand the stress of the busy ramp, the significant other having to one back the trailer down and then have to go and park it and then wait for them to walk back..... My cruiser sits still in the water just fine with no breeze and I have neutral and reverse too... The bay is not going anywhere...

I don't know....I am starting to feel self conscious waving like a blithering idiot, only to be snubbed by the wavee. Can we at least give them the finger if they don't recipricate?

I'm with you, last Friday my kids and I must have waved to 6 boats, not one reply. The last couple of waves I just lifting my hand off the windshield. Makes you feel like a loser…

In my normal boating area almost every one waves, little boats to big boats, fishing boats to cruisers, we all wave at each other. Once you get in the ICW then locals still wave the rest is hit and miss.

So...with your wife setting at your side, would you wave at a boat full of cute bikini clad ladies if they waved first? I confess....I'd think twice and keep both hands at 10 & 2 on the wheel.

Or at least out of sight : )

Are you kidding? When a boat full of bikini clad cuties goes by I pass close enough to say "Good afternoon, ladies...".

I always get an elbow in the ribs, but what the hey...

We're wavers. Well at least I am. Well sometimes the Admiral does but the twenty somethings never do (too cool).

Boating is a great sport where everyone crazy enough to spend the money is usually having a great time. There is a natural bond/link to anyone you pass on the water - assuming they are not waking you or cutting across your bow!

I'll keep on waving and will ALWAYS return a wave. On the rare occations a wave is not returned, well they probably just did not see me wave.

Sometimes Im a waver, sometimes Im not.

Got laid that morning: Im a waver
Dint get laid that morning: No wave

So my waving is directly related to my sex life, or:
W=V(+/-)
