  • Well, then, we've halfway met already! We were also at the April 15 Tea Party waving our signs : ) . And, I'm not laughing at your canoe, we love kayaking any chance we get, so your canoe is pretty fancy stuff in comparison. When you say squadron, what is that connected to? And, we agree, shrink our government so they protect us and leave us be. We've slowly given our government waaaaay too much control...now, it's just getting obviously much more concerning. We plan to cruise on up to Watts Bar sometime this year, we have heard great things about it...also wish we could get to Center Hill by boat...oh, well. : ) We just sold our pontoon (Tims Ford Lake) and bought our first Sea Ray.
We can't claim to be Sea Ray owners at present -- we sold our 290DA this winter to pay down debt. My current ride is a 20' Grumman canoe with a 30lb thrust electric motor. Don't laugh too loud, while it won't plane, it's still fun. I'll take any excuse to get out on the water.

Do you ever get up to Watts Bar Lake? We were up there in late June for a multi-Power Squadron get-together, and were blown away by its beauty. (We stayed at the Terrace View Marina Resort between Spring City and Rockwood.)

I've never been very politically involved; mostly I just want the Federal government to get out of my way, and to defend the country. I went to the tax day tea party at Legislative Plaza in Nashville on 15 April, and waved my 'DONT TREAD ON ME' flag. The local papers (Tennessean and Scene) reported 2000 and 500 participants. Metro Police estimated the crowd at approx. 10,000. That more than anything woke me up to how "our" media are trying to manipulate public opinion.
