water stains on inside of gauge glass.

I recently purchased a 2002 320 Sundancer. A few weeks ago i noticed condensation in a few of my gauges. It has since dried but left a residue on the inside of the glass. My question is can the glass be removed from the gauge? If so how?

I have the same issue on one of my guages. They are sealed at the face so you can't get to it without risking breaking it. I may replace it, but it doesn't worry me anymore.

Yes! they can be cleaned. I did this to my boat. I carefully pryed open the gauge with a small screwdriver and popped off the glass. I cleaned it off and it is crystal clear. (that was 4 years ago)

It takes some patience, but it can be done.

I had the same problem. I didn't want to wreck the bezel, so I drilled a 1/16" hole in the bottom of the gauge through to the inside. We have cows, so I dug through the medicine kit and found a syringe. I "injected" window cleaner into the gauge holding it upside down so it would not get in the inner workings (I had to do this several times), I then drained it as best I could, and sealed the gauges in an ammo can with some dessicant packs, after a couple of days I removed the gauges and sealed the small hole with some clear silicone. It has been awhile, and they still look good.

What is the year, make & model of your boat? That may make a difference as to how easy it is to open up.

I also pryed my most clouded gauge faces, cleaned them and reinstalled. The only thing is that I was unable to get the small round gasket that sealed the face back on. Now the lenses are able to be moved around in the bezel, but they are still clear. :smt038

It takes some patience and finesse to separate the glass and there were some shards of glass that came off the edge of the lens - so be careful! :wow:
