OK, Here is my issue, I store my 200 sundeck in my driveway. I back the boat up to my third stall so it is out of the way. My driveway is at enough of an incline that I am unable to raise the bow higher than the stern. Thus collecting water in the bow of the boat. She is covered with the snap on covers that I got when I purchased the boat. It is not a huge amount of water but it is about 3" deep in the bow when I pull the cover off. I am looking for any and all ideas to remedy this situation.
Thanks,
CHris

Can you put a couple blocks of 2x or 4x under the jack?

I have the same issue! Strange! Worst is when the rain flows off the canvas and rolls back through the transom door on the starboard side....errrrgghhhh

Go to your local Sea Ray dealer and get a free shipping cover like I did. They're actually quite nice, cloth lined and shrink wrapped to fit your boat. They just shred the unused ones.

The shipping cover is a good idea. Also, you might want to "circus tent" the cover (put a pole under it so it sticks up in the middle). That way the water will run off the canvas instead of puddling up.
Let us know what ends up working.

do whatever you have to do to get the boat draining properly, its NOT good to have it bow down collecting water.

Use a Full (below the rub rail) cover for storage. I tow with the snap on covers but once I get home I put on the full (weatherproof) cover right over the top of the snap on covers.
Just make sure your boat is dry when you cover it up.

I had a similar problem. I have a full cover (no snap-ons) that has lost its waterproofing (if it ever really was) over the years. Water would pool in the center and soak through the canvas and couldn't drain out the back because I was parked on an incline. To solve the problem used a combination of two of the above suggestions. First, I stacked four 2x6 on top of each other and screwed them together and put them under the jack. That got the tongue up enough for any water to drain out the back. Second, I built two poles out of PVC with a plywood base to keep water from pooling. I put one of the support poles in the bow and the other just in front of the rear bench. It works well for all but the biggest downpours.

Tex,
How did you get the jack up on the 2x6's? I would love to do that but as it is right now when I swing my jack down it is already hitting ground. I might also go with a full starage cover, does anyone know a good sturdy brand that fits well?

If you need to buy the 2x6's you may just buy an extra one and put them under the rear wheels of your Excursion - that will lift the rear up enough where you may be able to get at least one 2x6 under the trailer jack. Another thought is the height of your hitch compared to the tongue of the trailer - it may not be level.

This link may help show what I'm talking about on the ball mounts.

Mine is the same way so I use a pair of jack stands with another 2x6 laid across them. First, I jack the trailer all the way up, then raise the jack stands up until they are just below the tongue, then lower the tongue and let it rest on the jack stands. Then raise the trailer jack up until i can slide the 2x6 stack underneath. It sounds like a pain because it is, but right now its cheapest and easiest method i can come up with.

Tex, I think you might have a winner there. I am going to give that a try. This is why I love this forum, so many ways to solve a problem, one of them has got to work. Thanks all for your input. If anyone else has any other ideas keep them coming, if there is a better way of doing this I am all ears.

Or, you could put a small bilge pump hooked to a liquid switch so it'll only come on when theres water in there and go off when there isn't....... like this.
