Was on the boat over the weekend and found a puddle on my carpeting in rear Berth area! Hasn't been there long, no smell! Any Idea's? Used a Shopvac and got about a half a gallon of water out!!

The only leaks I have had are due to port windows. They need to be adjusted because they get loose and leak. Hope yours is that easy.

Mike

I guess the first question would be did it rain since the last time you were at your boat? If not, I'd guess it was the sump overflowing. Did you shower on the boat?

No Rain and the Admiral would kill anybody thinking of Showering in the Head!!! If it's the Sump wouldn't there be a tell tail stream in the Bilge also?

Just a thought .....where is your ac/heat unit located? Is it anywhere near this area?

I had the same problem this past weekend on my '97 330 DA. The carpet was not wet, but water was collecting in the port side under the seating area in the mid berth. Long story short, it ended up being a leaking fitting in the hot water hose running either to the head, or galley sink. If you pull out the cushion and the liner along the port side wall, there is a 4-5 inch wide piece of marine fiberglass that will be held in by screws. Take that piece off and inspect for water in that compartment. There should be 2-3 small drain holes that lead into the compartment under seat. I simply had to tighten up the hose that was leaking. Now that I think of it, a quick test is to see if it is your waterlines, turn on the fresh water pump with all the faucets turned off, if the tank keeps pressurizing every couple minuets it's most likely a waterline leak.

Hope it helps,

Mike

DustinL AC unit is under the forward berth and outflow is pumping fine.
Mike thanks I'll test that theory tomorrow!
Wondering where the access is for the Sump, I'm guessing it's through the Engine Compartment.... oh Joy!

Access to the sump on my boat is directly outside the head in the floor of the galley. There should be a small round metal piece that lifts up the whole access panel.

Marshall, If your sure its not rain, and you don't use the shower, my guess is AC condensate.... With the weather as hot and humid as it has been here, there is a lot of water produced from the AC...

That is what I was going with. Mine did this one summer when the ac condensate line got pinched.

That looks like the area of your fresh water tank...isn't yours under the mid cabin seating? Yesterday I found water in the area where my sump box lives. I traced it to water coming from the anchor locker...anchor locker door and gasket was ok, the membrane seal for the horn, not so good, anchor locker drains not so clear either...water runs through a conduit to the sump location inside the boat. There is a bilge pump for it, but I suspect the water would start soaking capet in my mid cabin floor before it would pump it out.

Your AC tray drain is pluged or slow. Blow out line with compressed air mold growes in line so pan over flowes it is most lickley close to sump pan.

Went down to the Boat Today.... and guess what? Mike your right there is an access hatch to the sump... underneath the CARPET PROTECTOR!!! JEEZ! Opened the access hatch and the entire hold was filled with Scummy Yellow Water!! The Sump Pump Box with the Attwood 750 was overflowing into the Compartment, and for some reason the other Pump with a separate Float Switch would nit come on? Ran a meter to the Sump feed and was getting 13 volts so I new the Sump Pump was bad! Checked and unplugged and replugged the Float Switch and the other Pump and what do you know the Pump fired right up!
Went to WM and off course they didn't have the Pump in stock... for $79.! So I had MM order it for me and will be at the Marina at 9am tomorrow!

The sump float may just need to be cleaned vs. the whole pump being bad. I thought my shower/AC sump was bad too but it was just the float that was gunked up and sticking. I poured some CP Cleaner into the sump basket, let it sit for awhile then flushed with fresh water down the shower drain. After soaking for about 30 mins the sump kicked in and water was flowing. Now I pour CP Cleaner into the sump basket as a preventative.

Thanks Tonka, but the Pump let out the "Smoke"! It's dead, like the Parrot! I was getting 13.5 on all the connecters, just to be sure I brought it over to WM and they bench tested it and it did nothing!!! Oh well, another $79. part that MM will charge me Retail for !!!!!!!
