We got stuck in a big storm on the water this weekend and our walkthrough window flew open and shattered. The frame got a little bent but I might be able to bend it back. What is my best option for getting a replacement? I'd rather not go to the dealer because it is expensive I'm sure. Should I use insurance for this or is it too small of a claim to worry about going through insurance?

I would call Taylor Made Products who made the window. I have heard they are expensive. I guess the final price will help you determine if insurance should be involved. You may luck out and Flounder Pounder Marine might have one in stock.

Looking at the Parts Manual, it appears to be Sea Ray p/n 1778073 "W/S, 240/260DA-05 DOOR W/SNP CLICK TRK" but check with Taylor or Sea Ray first to confirm. The drawing is not very detailed.

Wow, bummer Justin. We were on the Kinni and saw the storms coming in and headed back to Hastings.

Glad nobody was hurt. :smt038

Call Taylor, but don't tell them it's for a Sea Ray...If you do they will tell you that they cannot sell the product to you, and that you will need to get it through sea ray at 400 percent increase..

Have them give you the part number and then call back and order via that part number...If they ask just say it's for a boat..My windshield broke and I saved 2k going through them vs. Sea Ray...

Matt, I certainly agree with your logic here but how would one go about getting a part number for a windshield without telling them the year, make and model of the boat?

Sorry, on the first call tell them it's a Sea Ray...Then on the second just give the part number and don't give too much info...I'd be a bad crook...lol

might be able to get a piece tempered glass cut for it if the frame is salvageable... I would try a glass shop if you can't get if from Taylor...

Got a quote from my local MM and its going to be 450 for everything(glass, frame, etc) so i just told them to order it up. I was thinking about just getting a new piece of glass but i'm not positive i can bend the frame back and make it look decent. Being that we've only had the boat a month i'd like to try and keep it as new looking as possible.
