Wakeboarding On An '05 185 Sport??

Alrighty folks...just looking for some opinions so please feel free to chime in!! I'm about to take the plunge on an OEM XTP tower for my '05 185 Sport. Pricey...as you're well aware. So, there's no reason I should be considering upgrading to a new 185 with a tower instead is there?? I know the hulls are different on the new ones, but it can't make that much of a difference with the wake, ride, performance, etc., can it? Anyone wakeboarding with an '05 or earlier 185, and if so, how is it? One good thing; my buddy has an '06 185 Sport (new hull) with a tower...so any comparison stuff I want to do, I can easily do it with him. Just seeing what you fellow SR folks think!! Thanks for any input!!

I see people wakeboarding from jetskis, small boats and even rafts with an outboard attatched! You dont need much power to wakeboard.
