For those of us who don't have the space to install a perment Sat. tv antenna I found this at Best Buy, it has a lot of positive feedback. It's meant to be used at anchor/dock, not in motion, but they have one for that according to their website. Looking to see if anyone has the small portable one and what they tought of it? Thanks.

This is not a stabilized antenna. It is for camping and the like. Not for a moving boat. Sorry.

I know, that's what I was saying, but when visiting a another port on a trip it's nice to kick back in the cockpit and enjoy watching the Tiger's while enjoying a docktail...

They make a marine stabilized one for just a little over 4 1/2x the price of that one.

This is an older thread, but I'm posting because I just had one delivered yesterday (eBay, refurb with 60 day warranty, around $350). It took about 10 minutes to set it up and it works perfectly. It automatically switches between the two different satellites that BellTV uses (82 and 91), and is fully HD compatible with BellTV and Dish. DirectTV HD won't work though, so that option is out. I'm amazed how simple and elegant this solution is, and is WAY better than having a regular roof-type dish mounted somewhere close to the dock. Light, compact, and it works. I'll even use it to tailgate at Bills games this season...

I have an in motion one and love it! It will track while I'm on the hook and "sailing" but not fast enough while under way and bouncing. I use it for my RV as well. I do have a built in 12v KVH receiver in the boat and use 12volt for the "cube" on the boat.
