Vineyard Memorial Day Weekend

Chuck, We had a great stay in OB. Left for Buzzards Bay Sat. morning fighting 3-5'/s the whole way! The boat handled it fine, but taking steady waves over the front stb. bow! Once thru the 'Hole, smooth sailing. Ended up having a slip right next to 2 other friends and I don't remember much after Sunday about noon! The local Barny Fife shut us down around 11 Sun. night so I am sure we were someones roudy neighbor! Maybe we can all do it again sometime soon.

Yes, Saturday was a nice blow out there!

Perhaps in less than two weeks? http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30818

THAT WAS my boat and it went nowhere.....i was in a drug induced coma all weekend on perks and oxi and stilli went for an mri this morning at 3;00 am to confirm a herniated disc that is hitting the nerve and my left right arm feels like it was shot with no feeling in it.......i should have left the key and you could have warmed the engines up for me

Ouch, get better soon!

You must be in a drug induced coma...what's a "left right arm"?

I didn't venture down your dock, I didn't even think to check the name on the boat...sorry to hear about your suffering. Never fun...

I would have enjoyed having the keys

I made it over to OB on Sunday, mid-day. It was a GREAT ride over. We didn't get off the dock from Kingman until 12:30 (don't you love inviting friends to come on your boat and you tell them to get there by 9AM.....and they show up around noon).

The ride over to OB was so calm on Sunday afternoon that a another friend in a 21 ft center console followed my over. We just rafted up on a mooring and spent the rest of the afternoon walking around OB and eating at Nancys. We left OB harbor around 6PM to head back home...and at that point the winds had shifted around to SW. My friend in the 21 ft wasn't too happy heading towards Woods Hole....once out into Buzzards Bay, it was following seas the rest of the way.

Sorry I missed you guys, we will have to firm up some plans for later this summer.

Yes, Dave, same here with the name.
Dave, my bad, I will have better manners next time!! Looking forward to another OB weekend soon! Just figured out that 2 round trips in fuel to OB costs me about $400 +/-.... cost of doing business as I call it! Till next time

Where do you folks recommend for a marina in Oak Bluffs? We are planning a trip for sometime this month. Thanks!!!
Do a search of "Oak Bluffs", you will find mucho information. The quick synopsis is that there are many town moorings that you are allowed to tie up to 4 boats wide. I think they are $25/night, first come, first served. If you want a slip against the bulkhead, you can try to get something upon arrival, but better to go online, make a reservation with OB harbormaster. About $100/night. Don't even think about getting one of those for July 4, shark weekend, or Illumination week. Try to get over there, it is a great time!
