Anyone thinking of doing a mini renedevouz around the Cape/Vineyard for Memorial Day?? Hoping the weather holds out and going somewhere. Any thoughts???

Haven't figured that weekend out yet, but this morning I'm headed down that way. Planning on cruising over to Hyannis and checking out the sand bar at Lewis Bay, "the kids want to swim at the beach" burrrrr.... Haven't been there since I was a small child.

I might be there....my 10 day trip is now in a holding pattern as a guy in my office had a heart attack and I am doing my work and his now.......So I might hit VH

Paint, are you fleeing the Figawi or staying there? Just got the OK from the admiral that we'll stay local (Cape and Islands) for the weekend, so now I'm looking for some last minute plans. Something that the kids will enjoy, too. Hyannis Marina looks like a nice spot, but I'm sure it's full up...

CCC, you figure it out yet, too?

Chuck, etc,
Ya, we have a slipped reserved in OB for Sat/Sun night. Should be a blast. Weather looks good and I have a liquor order all set to be picked up Sat. morning! We will be heading over Saturday around noon. We will be along the wall somewhere and the boat name is "Far Niente" if anyone wants to stop by for a free adult beverage. Come on summer!

I am doing Vineyard Haven as they found my camera so I will just go there and stay......Hyannis Marina is packed Thursday and Friday and clears out by 11:00 AM on Saturday....

Chuck, if you stay at Hyannis stop by and say hi, I’m on J dock. My daughter has her JR Prom Saturday night :smt013 and I have the 4-5am shift at the after prom party so I’m not sure what time I’ll get down.

Thanks everyone! I'm working on our itinerary with the admiral and the slip availabilities...will let you know what we finalize soon.

I will most likely be over to OB on Saturday night or Sunday morning. The name on my boat is Salesman Ship.

Steve, I have been looking to see if you are on the boat as I drive by, keep missing you. We will be on the "wall" Sat/Sun so let's hook up. We bought a new boat this year, but in the same slip as last. The name is "Far Niente", so keep an eye out and I will do the same. Let's hope the weather holds...

Got my plans finalized.

We'll be pulling into Oak Bluffs Friday night, we got a slip for one night. Then Saturday heading over to Hyannis where we'll spend Saturday and Sunday nights.

Jack, we should be able to cross paths. CCC and Paint, not sure our paths will cross but will keep an eye out.

Have a fun and safe weekend afloat

Chuck, we are leaving Buzzards Bay around 11, should be to OB by 12:30 ish. We have a slip as well, so will look for your Blue Bomber!! (if you are still there)

Chuck,Looking forward to meeting you.

I am leaving at 10:00 Friday night and will be in VH......e might have to try the mud slides in Oak Bluffs
Paint, I have to ask. With your reputation preceding you, I would think that you liked the atmosphere and entertainment more of OB:smt038 Obviously we have never met, but reading your Block IS. comments etc, I assumed. But I have done that in the past and have received many a tongue lashing! Also, I would like somewhere else to go on the island and would like to experience VH if you recommend it.

It's a Black Bomber though... We may be out of there before then, depending on seas and with check out at 11.

Chuck,Looking forward to meeting you.
Ditto...

Margaritas are my specialty...We'll be bouncing around OB for the night.

In Vineyard Haven, Nobody knows your name or walks by your boat......VH is about privacy, quietness, great cruising in the tender, but most of all, I love bringing my own wine to the restaurants........At 11:00 PM I hop on the bus or taxi and go to Oak Bluffs......Best of both worlds I guess.....What is done in VH, stays in VH.....

Thanks, I knew there was a good reason!!:smt038

CCC - I saw your new boat in the slip at Kingman last weekend, but didn't know it was yours. I was looking for Pay Dirt. Congrats on your new boat.

I'll be over to OB on Sunday, I'll stop by and see you.

We had a great weekend out. The ride Friday night to Oak Bluffs was serene and beautiful. Saturday we crossed the sound for Hyannis and arrived in 20+kt winds. Was bouncy, but it was a following sea and all was fine. Made for an interesting docking situation with my single screw and a 20+kt cross wind. Ahhh, no damage done to gel-coat, must have worked.

Got to meet some great people on the J dock, including Jack F. You've got a great looking and clean boat I might add:thumbsup: Just needs a name :smt021

Trader Ed's was fun, they even opened the pool up early on Sunday so my kid's could swim. Nice job:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Paint, I guess that was your slip, but not your boat, behind that nice 60 DA we saw...how was VH?

CCC sorry we missed you in OB. We had a neighbor loud and routy until 2am...fine for a one nighter, but VH is our choice for long weekends...

Steve, did you make it to OB?
