8.1 Merc
I have a 2003 380DA. Gas 8.71 engines (2).
My Vessel View is no longer lighting up at night... has anyone replaced their Vessel View with either a direct replacement or upgraded version?

Thanks,

Mike

Which vesselview do you have? Do you have a photo?

Have you considered going to vesselview Mobile? I bought a nice 10" Android tablet for $100, plus the cost of the VV mobile adapter was another $200

Bringing this back to life - I just noticed last night that my Vessel View on my 2006 340 Sundancer is not lighting up at night. Is there an accessory switch? How does it know to light up? Model SC5000.

Any help is appreciated.

Not sure if it's still an issue but do you have a dimmer switch at the helm? Try it.

The dimmer switch only seems to adjust the compass light.

As you know the ignition switch turns the SC 5000 display on. I'm pretty sure my dimmer switch does compass and all gauges plus a few accent lights at the helm. Just keep hitting the rocker switch for the dimmer until lights in your gauges (Speedo/Tach) max out. (I'm not sure which way). Best to do at night because they're pretty dim to begin with. If that does not do it then the light may be gone. I've heard that does happen sometimes. With that said, what happens when you turn your running lights on? I have to be on my boat to verify but that might do it as well. I'm having a senior moment and can't remember. SMH.

I recently purchased a NIB SmartCraft SC 5000. I'll be swapping out this weekend and if all goes well my old one will be available. It works fine but loses some pixels on edges in direct sunlight after a period. No issues in dim or darkness. Been like this for years but when I saw a new one I had to spring for it. I also have a used system monitor (maybe 4 years old) that I may get rid of as well. I replaced it with a brand new one I got from Sea Ray last year. I like the fresh look of "new" and sometimes my OCD gets the be$t of me.

I was thinking this sensor setting (twilight) turns on the light but wanted to see if I’m missing something.

I’m interested in you unit if this back light works - pm me.
