And I thought I was happy with my C series... I can't see the price verses what you get... pretty expensive... I'll wait until they have the X series...then maybe I will be able to afford the G series... (jk)

Ray218 radio. It is a very cool radio. If you are into aesthetics and user interface then this is the one to have. It matches the C and E Series perfectly. Price is a little steep at $438.

I have had awful luck with raymerines 240 radios

Actaully all my ramarine radios have been horrible.

Looking into how to replace my 240 currently. its been replaced 2x already with zero improvment.

I got an email from Raymarine today announcing their G series. It look awesome but the price is about double the E series. The digital radar looked especially cool. Also, the picture in picture feature would be neat.

Anyway, I am content for now with the E series.

The new G screens look really nice and I bet they are superbright. BUT... I still think the Garmin touchscreen technology is the biggest improvement in electronic gear I've seen over the last few years...
