I just purchased a 1995 270 Sundancer. I cant get water into the head but the flush part is working. I tried filling with water as suggested in the manual. When I hit the button, the bowl flushes but there isnt any water coming in. The inlet is open & the inline valve behind the bowl is open. the system has the Macerator option but I have the (larger)outlet valve closed. There is a key switch located in the head, is this for dumping or does it have to be put into a position for normal use?

Do you have water in your fresh tank? Do you have the water system turned on?

Since I posted, I investigated & found the culprit to be the Jabsco pump located at the bowl. I tried a hose directly from the pump into a bucket of water. It is not drawing the water & needs to be rebuilt. J-Rod

Please take a few moments to set up your signature.

Sorry for the delay in responding & the long message. The previous owner told me it was a Vacuflush system & it looks that way when looking at the manual. There is the Jabsco model# 37010-0000 pump mounted on the back of the bowl. The pump model has been discontinued and the replacement is 37010-0090. I researched and found a rebuild kit and will try that approach first. Can you advise me on the system type if it is not a Vacuflush??
As stated in my original posting; When I hit the electric button mounted on the vanity, the bowl flushes but there isnt any water coming in. The inlet is open & the inline valve behind the bowl is open. The system has the Macerator option but I have the (larger)outlet valve closed. There is a key switch located in the head that looks like it is used for dumping, does it have to be put into a position for normal use?
If I use the sink shower hose in the bowl, the pump runs, flushes, keeps running and flushes again after a few seconds as the water level rises in the bowl. Looks like everything is working correctly other than no fresh water into the bowl.
When I pulled the inlet hose and put it into a bucket of water, the pump did not draw any water. It is a 1995 Sundancer 270 with a 454 Bravo III

As stated above, you definitely do not have a Vacuflush system. It's probably a Jabsco toilet. They haven't changed much over the years so I'd suggest going to their site and comparing to what you have.

Since it's not a Vacuflush, it is likely that it uses seawater - not fresh water. Check to make sure the seacock is open in the bilge.

Looking at the spec sheet, it does not appear that a Vacuflush was offered on that model...

Look in your bilge. If it's a VaccuFlush, there'll be a small tank (about 2 gallons) with a pump mounted on it or near it. The hose from the toilet would feed into this pump, the pump goes to this small tank, then another hose will go from the Vac tank to your holding tank.

But, I'm not aware of a VaccuFlush system that uses a button to flush it. 'Course, since you haven't owned it since new, who knows.

Just to add the obvious 'trademark' indication of whether you have a vacuflush system - the vaccuum pull of anything in the bowl down into the tank when opening the seal, followed by that wonderful perklunk, perklunk, perklunk sound as the vacuum is once again restored...nothing else like it..
