Vacuflush sucks water out of bowl after flush.

A good cleaning of the seal stopped the leakage and all was well. Is this situation likely a foreign matter in the seal, or an early warning of coming failure? How is this seal changed?

Thanks all for the great input, MM

The toilet needs to get removed to change the seal. The toilet is held in place by a band (need to remove lower surround cover). Try to download manual for manufacturer site.

Sorry, that stuff is water based and will wash right off!

That comment was purely for entertainment value.

The "foreign material" was probably the problem. I replaced both of mine when I bought the boat 4 years ago as a preventative measure. I would buy the replacement seals and put them on the boat so you are ready when they do fail. Grab 4 duckbills from the same place so that when they fail you'll be ready for that job.

I had the same problem last year and replaced the rubber seal. It fixed the problem. It is not a big task, but I found this documentation before proceeding.

Thanks for the links, what they were showing in the repair is sure nasty compared to my very clean unit. The ball on mine is pristine white, but that doesnt help the leaking seal. I'm going to try the lubrication first. MM

I have the opposite problem.. out of no where,, my vacuflush system has refused to empty.. I can fill the tank with water, however, the tank will not empty, and I dont hear any suction.. I have been told to check the circut breaker, but I dont see any circut breaker associated with the toilet, other than I can turn on my water supply. Any Ideas .. "can you shed some SEARAYLIGHT" on this issue for me.. Most appreciated
Thank you

I had some "foreign" matter in my seal and just figured it came from me eating too much Mexican food...

There should be a breaker for the water system and another marked head. Both breakers need to on for it to work.
Go to searay.com and read the manual for your boat.

Mike -- What ended up being your fix? Mine is 50/50, sometimes the water will stay in the bowl, others the water won't. I'm betting my seal just needs lubricated since she sat 9 months out of the year..

I bought a silicone lubricant from a swimming pool dealer and have had no further issues. Ready to find out if it works still this year.

Dow Corning 111 lubrication would be a good choice. McMaster Carr is a source for this.
