The pump doesn't always shut off by itself, but if I just barely touch the spring, on the pressure switch it will turn off. Can I adjust it or do I have to replace it?:smt100

If the switch is bad, you have to replace it.

However, you have to ask yourself if the system is not getting to the desired vacuum level also and "nudging" the switch turns it off. Does the thing come back on by itself (cycle on and off) if you leave it on (i.e. is it losing vacuum after you nudge it?)

Thank you for your reply, it does not come back on until you flush it. So tell me is it hard to replace?

Pressure switch is fairly easy. It is a Square D part, you have to look it up when you tear it apart and then Google the part number. That is what I did on my my vacuflush of the same vintage.

Thanks so much for the info! That looks just like my switch!
Great help!!!:smt038

The switch on the top of that assembly is what I needed. But that is a fair price for everything.

But that is a fair price for everything.

You know, I didn't even look at the pricing when I linked to it. I just looked right now... something's wrong. That should be a $100 part. Could be a glitch on the website.

I checked on it and you are right its a little bit more , but still I appreciate your help.

I was having the same problem with mine and fixed it just by taking the pressure switch apart and cleaning it up. It had just a little crap under the rubber seal that let the vac leak out. Now i can go back to the boat after it has been sitting for a week and it will still have tons of vac in the system. Also - yes you can adjust the vac switch but that will not fix the vac leak if it has one.

That's good to hear that you were able to do that. I had to replace my holding tank over the winter as it was leaking (Yeah, as you can imagine, if you had to pick one "tank" to be leaking... this is not the one you would want!:smt101). I figured while I was at it I would replace the vac switch since it was 10 years old. But, I kept it, hoping it might come in handy down the road. Thanks!

I replaced my switch only and not that entire assembly and it's been working fine ever since.
