Hope someone can offer some advice on an issue with my vacu flush head on my 1997 330DA. While out on the boat yesterday the Admiral plugged the toilet so being a good supportive mate I went to work with the plunger and cleared the issue - or so I thought. The next morning both house batteries were dead and when I listened in the morning at 5 am I could hear the vacum pump had been running all night. I shut down the head and removed the pump to find the duck bills worn as well as clogged with tissue. I have ordered all the parts to rebuild the pump but how did the tissue get into the pump? I thought the pump applied vacum to the vacum tank which pulled the waste into the holding tank. Do I have other issues besides the pump? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Everything from the toilet must pass through the duckbills ... toilet paper and all. That is just how it works my friend.

+1. The pump has 2 sets of duckbills - one set creates the vacuum to draw in the stuff. The other set pushes the stuff on to the holding tank.

When stuff gets stuck in the first set it can prevent the system from drawing a vacuum - thus the pump continously running and subsequent battery issue.

Thanks for that - I feel better now and will show the Admiral the size of the duckbill so that she thinks about it and will take it easy on the tissue.
