:smt100 My vac-u-flush vacuum generator pump on my 1993 33 foot Sea Ray doesn't shut off. It seems to charge the vacuum tank and the bowl seals are good. It seems to hold the holded a vacuum and flushes normally. It's like the generator pump doesn't know when to cut off. It keeps running unless I shut down the battery. Some boaters at the marina said it could be a bad or clogged duck valve. What is a duck valve and where is it located in the system. Is it a difficult job to replace?

There's been quite a few vac-flush threads lately, you can probably find some pretty good info if you use the "search" function (look under the big boat at the top of the screen).

It could be duckbill valves, could be the vac switch, could be a leak. None of this stuff is "hard", but it's a crappy job... if you know what I mean... :smt001

Try playing around with the switch while it's running. Push the switch in and see if it stops.

Another thing, after it's been running for a bit to build up pressure, turn it off with your battery switch. Listen for "hissing". That's a leak.

You probably won't get much help here without firstly setting up your signature.

A month and no response from the original poster. Well, at least we're having a good conversation! :smt101
