Just wondering if it's worth it to advertise my boat here and if others have had success selling here?
Unfortunately my 340 is going up for sale :smt089 I wanted to sell it with the broker that I bought the boat from
but put a down payment on winter storage at my marina and they are saying I am binded to the contract
So I am going to try and sell private.
As much as I love my Sea Ray the kids have no interest and the admirals is limited so it's time to sell.

Sorry to hear that Dan. If you're storing at your marina's heated storage it's hard to believe that they wouldn't be able to call up one of the many people on their "waiting list" that they like to mention instead of holding you to your contract.

I have sold two boats on boatcan.com and was very satisfied with their service. The owner lives at Venetian Villiage - he has an older Regal Commodore 360 (burgandy top) - nice guy. After paying for a 3 month listing and selling the boat within 1 month, they promptly applied a refund for the unused months to my credit card. They aren't a broker, just a computerized listing service.

If you are commited to storage, why not wait till spring to sell. The market would be more active at that time of year. Who knows, maybe there will be renewed interest in boating come spring!

Heck this was the 2nd time since kids it was only the Admiral and I on the boat. The 2 oldest(18 & 20) went on their merry ways and the youngest (12) went with her girl friend and sleeping over there. This is so nice!!! I keep the boat if you do not owe anything on it.

Thanks everyone and Jim for the tips, as for waiting till spring that just might be an option

Well one more post, the admiral and I headed down to the boat to start clearing things out for the sale and we were talking and thinking how few pictures we had with us on the boat so I snapped some.
Me and the wifey:
This has been one tough decision and even though we only had this boat for one season it's been a great boat but we are moving on. :(

Dan sorry to hear you are getting out.Went thru the same thing, kids didn't think it was cool to go with mom and dad every week end.Sold the boat and 10 years later got back in.Hope you make it back also.

I sold my 280 through here, JIM at BOE marine. It's worth the money.

I am also interested in sell my 2001 190 SD... I put it on Craig's List, and got a bunch of scam e-mails... Not sure if the fall is a good time to sell a boat... I was wondering the samething (about CSR), is this a place where I should post my boat... I thinking of listing with Dennis at Peter's marine in PA, perhaps there is someone on CSR who is near you that works for a local marina or Sea Ray dealer that can assist... I know there is guy in VT who owns a Sea Ray dealer who is on CSR....
