Upper Chesapeake trip: Kent Narrows, MD to Potomac River - destinations to visit along the way

We are going to keep the boat for another month in Kent Island, which means time to go play at St Michael's. I reread all the comments here, looking for a consensus on the best marina to stay at in the St Michael's this time of year. We don't need a pool, we'd like to be able to walk around and be close to restaurants though.

Higgins Yacht Yard. Not even a question. Best location. Best price. New docks.

Higgins (downscale). Or the museum (with membership) if Higgins is full. Anchoring out works, assuming you can find a good spot and have a decent dinghy.

Then maybe St. Michaels Marina if we have to go in late July/early August (for the pool). The hotel marina is nice too, just further away. Latter two marinas are more expensive.

2 night slip reservation made at Higgins for April 22 and 23rd. Anyone want to join us? :)

So what made you change mind besides not freezing your ass off running 8 hours on 40* water?
Time, felt rushed, and wanted to take our time. Coupled with some of the posts here, including yours, where we should take advantage of the area and do some exploring.

Yup, reviewed those prior to asking. Looking for local/personal experiences as well as that hole in the wall that never makes an internet BEST list.

St. Michael's is very walkable so every restaurant in town is within reach. We like Awful Arthur's for lunch or dinner. The crepe place (can't remember name), the Galley, and Carpenter Street Saloon are all good for breakfast, and Foxy's Grille is good for drinks and munchies on the water.

Said before I love the Carpenter Street Saloon, especially for breakfast.
Somebody upthread didn’t like it. I say give it a shot.
We expect reviews after the trip.
With pictures.

That was probably me. It's a dump. Drink a beer there as you walk from Higgins to town. But don't eat there. You'll understand why when you walk in. So many other places that are cleaner, nicer to their patron and have so much better food.

If you want something casual, but good, try Corah's Corner (go up to Main Street, turn right, and it's on your right at the start of the bend in the road). You can't go wrong with anything there. My wife says they have the best fish n chips around.

Been long time since I been, so I digress. Was nice. Shame.
I love fish n chips, may have to burn the fuel just to try them.

Foxy's for outdoor lunch, Carpenter Street Saloon for breakfast, Awful Arthurs for dinner, most of the others decent too. Crab Claw for lunch if you must, but the view is usually better than the food.
