Hello, I appreciate the knoledge base of your forum. I recently acquired an 89' Searay Amberjack 270' with twin 5.7 thunderbolt 350's, and like alpha ones with no props on them. Upon insecting both engines they are both standard rotation. I'm ready to buy props and need to know what set up this should have. The book calls for RH rot props, but wouldn't that create alot of propwalk? I read some discussion about the helm control could be connected differently for one Alpha to run in reverse, but that would require a LH prop. Also if anyone has an optimal prop size/pitch setup please let me know, it calls for a 3B 14.5 X 19P. If anyone has any helpful information I would appreciate it.

You would need to replace a lower unit, to get the counter rotation. That boat is fine with both drives running in the same direction, that is the way they cam. As far a prop pitch and diameter, if you go to Sea Ray.com you can look up in the archives to find the props that were installed on your boat.

Check any labels on O/D (port) for markings of Counter Rotation just to be sure. If you have CR and want to remove Outdrive you will need to put it in reverse. I have a 92 300 and I have CR props and drives. Not sure which year they started it or if it was an option. It definately helps especially docking, rf

I've seen the inside of a few and it looks to me to be very posible. I would check with your local marina and have a chat with a Tech who actualy performs repairs on these.

Both of my 4.3 are right had rotation. I see the 4.3 lx are right and left rotation option on the 1990 270 sundancer. Right now I wouldn't know the difference than two right and one right and left. Only had this boat out and few time's and still getting used to the twins, Never run twins with right and left, but sure the is a good advantage to have them.

My '89 300DA with 5.7s and Alpha I are both standard rotation. Unless a PO has changed something, you should be good with two standard props and that 14.5x19 sounds about right, that is what is on my boat.

The information is much appreciated Captain's, I believe that the boat is all standard rotation. twin screws on order. Thanks
