TRUMP 2024

1. Tax cuts are generally good. Totally agree. This one cost 2 trillion dollars. And didn’t help me or much of my social group one iota. In fact my federal taxes went up considerably. So how did it help, exactly? And who??? Would love to see your sources on this.

2. DACA is legal. Per the Supreme Court. Not per me. I don’t have much of an opinion beyond that as it seems fine, adds tax revenue and needed employees in certain fields. Fine. Whatever.

3. Immigration enforcement is complex. The wall is idiotic and simplistic to a fault. It was a simple campaign pledge that Trump’s less educated supporters could understand and chant about at rallies. Even if they naively bought the lie that “Mexico would pay for it.”

PS,it appears he MIGHT not be the most truthful fellow. I mean, many people are saying…

2. Killing DACA isn’t a center right position. Nor is the Dodds decision handed down by right wing judges he installed. Not when 70% of the country is in support of abortion rights.


I’d consider sensible immigration policy and enforcement center right. Not walls. I’d consider tax breaks that actually help middle class families center right, not trillion dollar tax breaks for billionaires. Small social programs meant to help are center right if done right. And staying the fuck out of our bedrooms and personal choices should be tenet #1 of center right policy. Huh, maybe I’m a libertarian after all?

I’m just spitballing here. There must be a sensible Republican out there. Maybe not this generation. The party seems to have been taken over by cranky old guys who think the Mexicans are coming to take their engineering gigs while the “homos” burn down their churches. As if. I dunno.
