I just picked up a 2006 48 sundancer.... what an awesome vessel!!! The transom door latch just broke, not sure why this piece is made of plastic but anyway, I'm having a difficult time locating the part. Has anyone had to replace this part and know the part number or where I can purchase this item. Mobella.com is embedded on the plastic part of the latch but this takes you to southco who I emailed and they don't know which latch is the correct one. Go figure!!

Welcome and good luck with your new boat! I don't have an answer, but have to say that the latch is cheap. Sea Ray can't order this for you?

Congratulations on the new boat and welcome to CSR. MarineMax in Lindenhurst can order that part for you if you can't find it anywhere else. North or South Shore?

We bought a beautiful 1999 38' Sundancer in the spring of 2008 and we just love it!!!! Beautiful, well thought-out layout, top quality materials throughout. Just a stunning boat. Our locking slam latch on the transom still is in great condition but just this past weekend I replaced the 4 white cockpit Southco slam latches because they had a few fine, hairline cracks. Our nearest SeaRay parts dealer quoted $35 ea. so I Googled several other places, which priced out on average at $30 ea. (non-locking) + shipping. Still sure I could do better I called L&B Marine (410.463.3600) on Kent Island, Maryland (Chesapeake Bay), our area's only real competition for West Marine, and Lu ordered the 4 non-locking latches at $15.85 each. Southco's part number is MX-6X-1. Here's another source http://www.boatersland.com/tim29201.html [Teak Isle brand, part #TIM29201] locking - $27.99 + shpg. Also, http://www.boatoutfitters.com/southco-white-flush-latch.html (locking - part #070-0051 $28.01 +) Have your door thickness measurement ready as there are 4 options on that. Best luck!

Trunk latch or door from the platform to the cockpit latch?
