1. Where do you store your boat during the "in-season"?
a. Wetslip with no lift and no roof, but with fully closed canvas.

2. Where do you store your boat in the "off-season"?
a. In my driveway on the side of my house (we have a special setup just for the boat). I raise the trailer to take some load off the tires right after I winterize the boat. We have special cover that we used for long trips and during off season.

3. How much do you spend annually to store your boat?
approx. $1,700 for the slip "in-season".

4. How big is your boat in feet?
26 ft

5. How many times per year do you trailer your boat to the water?
Few times. At least two (start and end boating season) and other times depend on the number of trips we take that require towing.

6. How far do you normally travel to get there (one way)?
about 30 or so miles (takes us 40min to an hour, depending on the traffic)

Alex.

Thanks for all the great responses. Right now it looks like the most votes are for "trailer and store outdoors". I'm no statistician but it seems in general that the larger the boat the more it cost to store, kinda' like when you buy a boat. Hmmm...

There are so many factors that drive these decisions, like population density, real estate costs and zoning regulations of where you live. I like to hear about how others handle these issues and their related costs.

I should clarify that my $450/yr is for covered wetslip priveleges. I had to buy my own lift for $2400 about 5 years ago.

Thanks again

No, I don't store at the marina because the total yard bill (storage, winterize, powerwash, shrinkwrap, wake-up in the spring) would be 1 1/2 times greater......skinflint Yankee that I am!

My dream is to have "Jeremy's Facility" a big 50x50 (or bigger) with 20 foot doors (Qty 2) which is outfitted with complete HVAC, epoxy'd floors with drains throughout, and air filtration. It will always be "day light" in the facility and always 75 degrees... this way the boat, and cars get stored in door... with little to no dust.... and you can wash em, polish em, and wax em right inside the facility. My dream :smt001
